Two teams with somewhat disappointing openers compared to their expectations clash this Saturday when No. 7 Oregon hosts Boise State at 10 p.m. ET.
The Broncos have won their past three meetings against Oregon, but my Boise State vs. Oregon prediction expects that trend to end.

My best bet

My analysis
Boise State started their season in Atlanta with a matchup against Georgia Southern. However, they were 13-point favorites and had to win a 56-45 shootout behind the legs of Ashton Jeanty. He had 267 yards on the ground with an amazing six touchdowns.
It was needed because the Broncos defense allowed 322 passing yards, spread out to 11 different receivers. Now they must face one of the premier offenses in the country on the road in Eugene. Don’t let the score fool you, Oregon can still move the ball.
Despite only scoring 24 points, Oregon had 380 yards passing from quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who transferred from Oklahoma. The Heisman favorite was also 41-for-49 passing to showcase incredible accuracy. The problem for the Ducks was an inability to finish drives, as they had a fumble, a missed field goal, and two turnovers on downs.
The defense allowed two touchdowns, but one was on a short field due to a failed fourth down conversion by the offense. If the offense had finished their drives with even just a few touchdowns, this would have been a blowout with a fantastic defensive performance. They forced seven punts with two interceptions and a turnover on downs.
I expect to see better execution at the end of drives this weekend from the Ducks. This spread was 24.5 before Week 1 and we are getting a discount because Oregon struggled in their opener. Week 2 of the NCAA football season is an excellent time to catch discounted spreads from Week 1 overreactions and this is a prime example. The Ducks offense will have their way with this leaky Boise State defense.

We’ll start this same-game parlay by combining the spread with the Over. Yes, the Oregon defense is good, but they still allowed 14 points to an FCS team last week. Boise State racked up 56 points in Week 1, and even though the Broncos won’t come anywhere close to that number this week, they still have Jeanty to help them move the ball on anyone.
Finally, we will add a touchdown scorer. Gabriel loved targeting his tight end last week with seven catches for 87 yards. The Broncos gave up a tight end touchdown last week. I like Terrance Ferguson to find the endzone in this contest.
