Against the Spread (ATS) Pick

There's no sugar coating the Warhawks ugly 2020 season: they've gone a pathetic 0-10 SU and 3-7 ATS with an average scoring margin of minus-25.7 points per game. That said, 26 points is a lot to spot them against a mediocre team like Troy that has lost four of its last five games.

Keep in mind that UL Monroe has lost four games this year by more than 25 points but three of those opponents (Army, Liberty and Louisiana) are far better than the Trojans.

Although Troy is coming off its best performance of the year in a 38-42 loss to undefeated Coastal Carolina on Saturday, it may have lost its best offensive player in quarterback Gunnar Watson. The sophomore signal-caller has completed 70.1 percent of his passes for 237.9 passing yards per game this season but was forced out in the fourth quarter after a late hit bounced his head off the turf. If Watson is unable to suit up on a short week it will be even more difficult for a Trojans side averaging just 27 ppg to cover this massive spread.

With the Trojans just 2-7 ATS in their last nine games as a home favorite and coming off just four days of rest after a heart-breaking loss, back the Warhawks on the spread.

PREDICTION: UL Monroe +26 (-110)

Over/Under Pick

Both teams have strong Under trends going into this matchup: the Under has gone 5-1-1 in Troy's last seven games as a favorite, while also cashing in five of UL Monroe's previous six contests as a road underdog.

As badly as UL Monroe has looked on defense, it has been even worse with the ball, averaging just 305.7 yards and 16.3 points per game. The Trojans have been solid on defense, holding opponents to a respectable 25.4 ppg.

We don't see the Warhawks' woefully weak offense being able to drag this total over 60 points.

PREDICTION: Under 60 (-110)
