The Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the New York Giants at MetLife on Sunday, with the hosts having made big decisions at quarterback this past week.

The Giants have won and covered just twice this season, and with a new quarterback under center, our Buccaneers vs. Giants predictions expect Baker Mayfield’s team to cover.

Find out more in my NFL picks for Sunday, November 24. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. ET from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, with the game airing on CBS.

Buccaneers vs Giants prediction and best bet

Who will win Buccaneers vs Giants?

The Buccaneers opened as one-point favorites and that’s risen to six points with the news around the Giants’ quarterback situation. Daniel Jones is now out of the building, and while being popular, Tommy DeVito isn’t quite at that level.

The Bucs are two wins behind the Falcons and need to keep winning in order to reach the playoffs. They should have a very good chance to make ground on the Falcons this week, especially with Mike Evans looking likely to return.

My best bet
Buccaneers -6 (-110 at BetMGM)

My analysis
Sunday’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New York Giants game was looking like it would be a tight game, in which the 4-6 Bucs, fresh from the bye, would be looking to secure the W and get within a win of NFC South leaders, the Atlanta Falcons. The Giants sat on 2-8 and on a five-game losing streak, decided to look to the future and make a change at quarterback, which has totally changed the shape of the franchise.

Earlier in the week, it was announced that Daniel Jones was demoted to being scout-team safety, either third or fourth-string QB. Jones isn’t good enough to be a franchise QB in this league, but the Giant's decision to bench him was motivated by a desire not to be on the hook for $23 million if he got injured. Reports were that his teammates were angry at the way he was treated, especially given the class that Jones has shown since. Then on Friday he was released. In the meantime, Tommy DeVito was announced as the starter over the previous second-string QB Drew Lock, another move that has created tension in the camp.

That’s the backdrop to a game in which the Giants are now six-point underdogs. The reality is that the team is poor. They’ve allowed the fourth most rushing yards per game, and despite having a decent record against the pass, they keep losing games and have been humbled in recent weeks, and suffered another humiliating defeat to the Panthers in Munich.

They’ve struggled to move the chains, and the offense was ranked sixth from bottom in terms of passing yards per game and ninth from bottom in scrimmage yards. The change at quarterback won’t address that; DeVito isn’t a starting-level quarterback. When he played down the stretch last year, he managed to exceed 200 passing yards just once.

The Giants’ soap opera distracts their players and organization and will harm them this Sunday. The Bucs come into this with real motivation, knowing that a win gets them firmly back in the race to win their division, especially given the five remaining games would see them face the Raiders, Cowboys, Chargers, and Panthers twice, of which you’d expect them to win four at least. They welcome back Mike Evans this week and that’ll give Baker Mayfield another receiving option and be a further boost in their hopes to win this. The Bucs are 6-4 against the spread this season, with the Giants covering the spread just twice, with further drama in the locker room that won’t be increased here.

Buccaneers vs Giants same-game parlay

Buccaneers -6

Bucky Irving Over 56.5 rushing yards

Rachaad White Over 19.5 receiving yards

In addition to our best bet for Buccaneers vs Giants, we’re also going to back Bucky Irving to rush for over 56.5 yards. The rookie has averaged 49.2 rushing yards per game but has continued to grow in importance to the team. He’s fresh off the back from a great performance against the Niners two weeks ago before the bye, which saw him carry the ball 13 times for 73 yards and a touchdown. The organization has said that he’s earned more carries and should continue to be featured against the Giants, who’ve given up 147.1 rushing yards per game, the fourth most in the NFL.

The final leg of our Same-Game Parlay involves another Bucs’ running back, Rachaad White, and we’re taking him to have Over 19.5 receiving yards. White may not be as good of a rusher as Irving but he’s the better receiving back. He’s had over 19.5 receiving yards in three of his last four games and had seven targets in their last game, catching six for 39 yards and a touchdown.
