The New England Patriots drafted quarterback Drake Maye with the third overall pick in this year’s draft.

He had a strong showing in his first start despite a 41-21 loss, and I break down Drake Maye's odds to show you where the value lies in New England's young signal caller.

My best bet

My analysis
After a tough matchup against the Houston Texans last week in his first start, things get a bit easier for Drake Maye on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars

While the New England Patriots are still underdogs in London, Jacksonville allows a league-worst 276.7 passing yards per game. That’s a far cry from Houston’s 163.2 per contest.

Maye showed last week he’s capable of moving the ball down the field even against the stout Texans defense, and he should be able to do that again this week against the Jaguars.

Jacksonville has allowed Over 193.5 passing yards in five of its six games thus far, with only the lowly Deshaun Watson going under with 186 yards.

The Patriots have only passed for more than 193.5 yards in one game this season, but of course, that was last week with Maye under center. Expect more of that against the worst pass defense in the league this weekend in London.

Drake Maye same-game parlay

Drake Maye Ovr 193.5 passing yards

Demario Douglas anytime touchdown

Patriots +6

DeMario Douglas caught six of nine passes with a touchdown last week so he already has a connection with the rookie QB. Plus, the Jaguars have allowed 13 passing touchdowns in the last four weeks.

New England is 1-4-1 against the spread this season, but this will be just the third time that Jacksonville is favored this year and the first time the Jags are longer than 3.5-point favorites. This should be a close enough game with Maye taking the reins.
