The Michigan State Spartans return to East Lansing after an unsuccessful West Coast swing when they welcome the Oregon Ducks to the historic Breslin Center.

Michigan State is undefeated at home, and my Oregon vs. Michigan State predictions expect the Spartans to bounce back with a huge win.

Read on for my college basketball picks for Saturday, February 8.

Oregon vs Michigan State prediction

My best bet
Michigan State -7.5 (-110 at bet365)

My analysis
Don’t write off the Michigan State Spartans just yet.

The Spartans return from an 0-2 road trip with a good chance to bounce back against a struggling Oregon Ducks squad.

Life on the road in the Big Ten can be tricky, but MSU returns to Breslin Center, where they’ve won 11 straight and are 7-4-0 ATS.

The two road losses to USC and UCLA were by a combined seven points. Michigan State played its typical stout defense, but the Spartans couldn’t make a bucket when they needed it.

Breslin Center is the wrong place, and the Spartans are the wrong team for a struggling offense like Oregon.

The Ducks have dropped five of their previous six games, their defense has been leaky, and Oregon has been held to 76 points or fewer in each game of their current four-game losing streak.

I like MSU to win big, and I’m betting the Spartans will cover the spread.

The Spartans’ defense is tough. They surrender a stingy 65 points per game at Breslin Center and are 3-8-0 to the Under at home.

Oregon isn’t scoring well, is defending worse, and is 2-8-0 ATS across its past 10 games. I’m betting the Spartans win big on Saturday.

Oregon vs Michigan State same-game parlay (SGP)

Michigan State -7.5

Jaden Akins Over 1.5 threes

Under 146.5

MSU senior guard Jaden Akins is the only Spartan who is averaging in double digits.

The Farmington Hills product was one of the Spartans the road didn’t affect. He knocked down three triples in Tuesday’s loss to UCLA and has cleared 2+ from downtown twice in his last five.

Akins drains 1.5 of his 5.2 attempts at home. He faces an Oregon defense that allows 24 points per game from downtown in the visitors' jerseys.

Despite Akins' triples, I’m betting the Under on the Spartan's defense. They can play suffocating defense, and the Ducks offense has ridden the struggle bus.

The Spartan's defense has fueled its Over/Under record of 3-8-0 to the Under at home, and I like that trend to continue Saturday.
