Kansas City has consistently found ways to win close games all season, making Philadelphia at +7 a strong teaser play for bettors.

The Kansas City Chiefs will try to become the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls on Sunday as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles for the second time in three years at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

While there are thousands of wagers you can make on Super Bowl odds, we can also play with the standard lines to creature our own teaser bets, and that’s the angle I’m taking below.

Read on to see my latest NFL picks for Super Bowl 59.

Eagles +7

The Kansas City Chiefs have become a team that’s uncanny at winning close games. Whether you think that’s due to clutch performances or an NFL conspiracy to appeal to Taylor Swift fans, Kansas City will probably need more of that when they face the Philadelphia Eagles

We’ve seen the Chiefs win a lot of close games this year, including the 32-29 victory over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship. That marked the sixth time this season that Kansas City had prevailed by three points or less, an incredible run of tight victories for a team with a 17-2 record, including the postseason.

Meanwhile, the Eagles have won 15 of their last 16 games overall. This season, Philadelphia has only lost by more than a field goal once — way back on Sept. 29, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers blew out the Eagles 33-16.

Statistically, the Eagles have arguably been the better team on both sides of the ball. Their offense scores more points than the Chiefs, and their defense has been even stingier. Saquon Barkley will also be the best player on the field Sunday, forcing Steve Spagnuolo to hone in on the superstar running back while holding his breath defending the likes of receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

Considering these two teams' initial Super Bowl matchup was decided by a field goal, there's a good chance this game comes down to whoever has the ball last.

Under 54.5

I’m also going to tease the total up to 55.5 points and take the Under. Kansas City doesn’t normally play to big numbers anyway, and while the Eagles ended up blowing out the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship, that was only the second time in nine games they played to a total of Over 50 points — both of which came against Washington.

These teams each rank in the Top 4 in the NFL in scoring defense, and while they’re capable of scoring points, they’ve only been playing to higher totals in very specific matchups this year. By adding nearly a touchdown to the total, I feel confident in taking the Under.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
