Week 1 of the NFL preseason continues Saturday night with a matchup between the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals.

Neither the Saints nor the Cardinals plan on playing any of their main starters, but that doesn't mean there isn't an edge to be found in the NFL odds.

With that said, let's get into our Saints vs. Cardinals predictions and NFL picks for August 10.

My analysis

The New Orleans Saints are currently dealing with a bunch of injuries and have only six wide receivers available, so there will not be a lot of rotation going on Saturday night. A few other positions may also see a lack of rotation due to minor ailments.

Meanwhile, Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon already announced that Kyler Murray will not play any preseason snaps this year, but he does plan on playing rookie receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. in this one. The Ohio State standout will start alongside quarterback Desmond Ridder, who is competing with Clayton Tune for the backup job.

While I believe that the Cardinals will have the advantage at the quarterback position throughout the game opposite of Jake Haener and Spencer Rattler, the Saints quarterbacks will have the luxury of playing multiple reps with the same players around them. Consistency can be key in these games compared to a slight talent advantage.

The Cardinals may jump out to an early advantage with some of their key players, but as the game goes along, I like the Saints to continue to develop their chemistry and put it all together. The Saints will also be playing more veterans who have gone through multiple preseasons compared to the Cardinals.

If the Saints don't fall behind by more than one possession in the first half, I love their chances to win this game. With the possibility of seeing players like Derek Carr and Chris Olave due to a lack of depth, backing New Orleans at plus money is my favorite bet for this showdown.
