With the Bills underdogs in Miami and the Eagles not yet favored by a TD against the Falcons, our Week 2 teasers are pairing the two prime-time bookend games into our favorite combo pick.

Moving spreads across multiple key numbers is the name of the game with teasers, and I’ve identified multiple teams to target for the NFL Week 2 odds slate.

The Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles both impressed on offense to start the year and headline our teaser NFL picks for Week 2.

Week 2 Teaser

Bills (+2.5 to +8.5) vs. Dolphins

The Buffalo Bills have topped the Miami Dolphins in four straight, and Fish quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has averaged just 218.8 passing yards per game during the skid. Buffalo impressed in Week 1 with the highest success rate on offense while also ranking second in EPA per play and offensive DVOA.

These teams are familiar divisional foes and meet on a short week, so I anticipate the Bills will be looking to win the time-of-possession battle and keep their offense on the field with Tagovailoa on the sidelines.

Additionally, the Miami quarterback didn’t exactly air it out in Week 1 despite finishing with 338 passing yards. His 6.4 aDoT was well below his 8.2 mark from last year and the gaudy 10.1 he posted in 2022. Expect Buffalo to try to eliminate the big plays, which will open up a lot underneath for Tagovailoa.

Moving the line through four key numbers is huge in a game Buffalo can obviously win outright, too.

Eagles (-6.5 to -0.5) vs. Falcons

It was quite the opener for the Philadelphia Eagles. Quarterback Jalen Hurts threw two interceptions and lost a fumble, and the Philly offense also went 4-for-14 on third down. Still, despite all that, the Eagles left Brazil with a 34-29 win — and the offense looked particularly explosive with running back Saquon Barkley in the fold. Playing at Lincoln Financial Field on Monday Night Football should cure a lot of those ills, and I’m buying stock in the Philadelphia offense returning to the league’s elite for the immediate future.

On the flip side, the Atlanta Falcons weren’t impressive. Veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for a confidence-shattering 6.0 yards per attempt, and Atlanta finished 24th in offensive DVOA and 30th in EPA per play. Now, the birds hit the highway and need to keep pace with the Eagles on prime time.

It’s not happening, and I also expect us to land closing-line value on this number because the Philly -6.5 spread is almost at the breaking point to move to a touchdown margin.

Best Week 2 teaser spots

  • Bills (+2.5 to +8.5)
  • Eagles (-6.5 to -0.5)
  • Ravens vs. Raiders (-8.5 to -2.5)
  • Broncos vs. Steelers (+2.5 to +8.5)
  • Lions vs. Buccaneers (-7.5 to -1.5)

Teasing the Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions through multiple key numbers and below a field-goal margin at home check the boxes. The Ravens are well rested after debuting on Thursday Night Football in Week 1, and the Las Vegas Raiders will head across the country following a 22-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

Turning to the Lions, they’re up to 7-2 at home since the beginning of last season, and I’m not convinced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can slow down the Detroit offense. Tampa allowed the sixth-highest EPA per play to the Washington Commanders and rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels in Week 1, after all.

The Pittsburgh Steelers hit the highway for the second straight week, and any trip to Mile High is a tough one. The Denver Broncos are a work in progress with rookie QB Bo Nix, but I’m confident head coach Sean Payton can keep his team within a possession on Sunday. Pittsburgh didn’t impress on offense in Week 1, either, and this game has the lowest total on the board.
