Their four-game win streak was dashed last time out, but the Vancouver Canucks will look to get back into the win column as they close their three-game homestand Wednesday night against the New Jersey Devils.

Vancouver, 1-0-3 at home in the young season, is set as a -115 moneyline favorite in the NHL odds.

The Devils have scored the second-most goals in the league so far, so Vancouver will need to match that output to find success in this one. That’s why my Canucks vs. Devils predictions and NHL picks are calling for forward Brock Boeser to stay hot.

My Canucks analysis

The Vancouver Canucks' Top 3 scorers on the season were all prominent in the last game, though it wasn’t enough as they dropped a 4-3 OT decision to the Carolina Hurricanes.

JT Miller picked up a pair of assists while Quinn Hughes, leading up to the Hughes Bowl game (with brothers Jack and Luke on Jersey), had a goal and an assist.

Ditto for Brock Boeser, which included his team-leading fifth goal of the campaign. The 27-year-old forward has been consistently strong for Vancouver this season, hitting the scoresheet in seven of eight games. That includes his most recent stretch of four games, where he’s picked up three goals and five points.

In 11 career games against the New Jersey Devils, he has eight points. The numbers are even better at Rogers Arena, where he has points in four straight, including his two career goals against them.

While the Devils can fill it up, helping them race to the top of the Metropolitan Division, they have played at least three games more than each of their closest competitors. New Jersey has also allowed the most total goals and is in the bottom half in the league, surrendering 3.25 per contest.

Boeser is getting generous odds for a goal on Wednesday night, and three of his five goals on the season have come on home ice.

Canucks vs Devils Over/Under analysis

While New Jersey just broke out of a four-game losing streak, they have dominated this head-to-head with Vancouver, taking eight of the last 10, including four of the last five at Rogers.

The scoreboards have had a workout in these matchups, with the Over hitting in six straight meetings, all at a total of 6 or higher. Vancouver has cashed the Over in three straight games, while the Devils will be looking to hit the Over for a sixth consecutive game.
