Golden Knights vs Jets Game 3 Odds, Picks, and Predictions: House Wins, Even on the Road

With Laurent Brossoit apparently cut out for the playoffs, and their offense clicking, the Golden Knights should travel well, and our NHL picks are backing them to take control of their series against the Jets.

The Vegas Golden Knights and the Winnipeg Jets shift their Western Conference Quarterfinals series to Manitoba for Game 3 on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights suffered a 5-1 setback in Game 1 on home ice, but Vegas bounced back with a 5-2 victory in Game 2.

Vegas played a disciplined game, and it was able to get a win, avoiding an 0-2 hole before the series shifted to the Great White North.

Will the Golden Knights be able to seize home-ice advantage back, or will the Jets regain the lead in the series? We’ll discuss in our NHL betting picks for Golden Knights vs. Jets on Saturday, April 22.

Golden Knights vs Jets Game 3 predictions

The Golden Knights pounced on the Jets, who made plenty of mistakes in Game 2, as Vegas fed off the energy of its home crowd.

Winnipeg had 16 giveaways, to just nine for Vegas, while the Golden Knights had 11 takeaways to just four for the Jets.

Vegas did a decent job in 5-on-5 situations, but it was 0-for-4 on the power play, and that’s something it will have to rectify as the series shifts to Winnipeg. VGK is 0-for-7 on the man advantage in the series, too, so it’s rather surprising it isn’t in an 0-2 series hole.

In Game 2, Laurent Brossoit was able to scoop up his first-ever NHL playoff victory. It was just his second postseason start, and just his third appearance overall. He kicked aside 31 of the 33 shots he faced to will his team to a victory.

Connor Hellebuyck did a tremendous job in the series opener, but he coughed up five goals on 39 shots, as the Vegas offense was much more active. In fact, it had just 17 total shots in the opening game, as he barely broke a sweat.

We’ve had two totally different games, and now we get a change in venue. The good news for Vegas is that Mark Stone came alive with two goals and three points after looking quite rusty in Game 1 after a three-month layoff. William Karlsson has lit the lamp in each of the first two games in the series, too.

After a wake-up call in Game 1 in Vegas, look for the Golden Knights to carry over the momentum from Game 3 with a solid road win to wrestle back home-ice advantage.

Golden Knights vs Jets Game 3 moneyline analysis

If you can’t bring yourself to play Vegas straight up on the road, it will cost you quite a bit on the puck line to take the underdog. In fact, Vegas will cost you anywhere from +250 to +300 if you require insurance.

Vegas has covered the puck line in four straight as an underdog, while winning three of the games outright. The last time the Golden Knights visited Winnipeg, Vegas picked up a 6-5 win on December 13 as a +123 dog. In fact, it won all three of the regular-season meetings by a 13-8 margin.

The Golden Knights have also won nine of the past 12 games on the road, while winning 17 of the past 24 games overall. VGK has won four of the past five meetings, too.

Vegas has also picked up five victories in the past seven conference quarterfinals games, while winning 14 of the past 19 games against teams with a winning overall record.

While the Jets have won just once in five meetings this season, they’re 4-1 in the past five meetings at home. So, there is plenty of risk backing the slight underdogs. But I think Vegas gets the narrow road win against a team it has handled well all season.

Golden Knights vs Jets Game 3 Over/Under analysis

The Over has cashed in each of the first meetings in this series, with a total of six goals in the opening game, and seven total goals last time out in Vegas on Thursday.

While the Under is 16-7-2 in the past 25 games on the road for Vegas, don’t let that fact scare you. The Over is 3-1-1 in the two playoff games, and three regular-season meeting, this season.

And if you’re a trend bettor, you might really like a lot of the Under trends for the home side. However, the Over is 3-0-1 in the past four games for Winnipeg against teams with a winning percentage over .600.

The Golden Knights have allowed two or fewer goals in five of the past six games overall dating back to April 6, and they have allowed three or fewer goals in eight of the past nine outings.

The Jets have allowed three or fewer goals in eight of the past 10 games, too. Look for the Under to come in, and pairing it with Vegas on the money line is a solid parlay opportunity.
