Golden Knights vs Stars Game 6 Odds, Picks, and Predictions: Brick-Wall Mode Activated

The Dallas Stars have been steadily clawing back from their deep hole, and doing it with great goaltending. Find out why that will continue and lead to a low-scoring affair in our NHL betting picks.

The Dallas Stars have scratched and clawed their way back from a 3-0 series deficit, and they can now force Game 7.

Meanwhile, the Vegas Golden Knights will get their third chance at going to the Stanley Cup Final after letting an incredible opportunity slip away on home ice in Game 5.

The Stars will be getting their captain Jamie Benn back in the lineup after he served a two-game suspension. Dallas has been strong on home ice all postseason long, skating to a 6-3 record at the American Airlines Center.

Jake Oettinger was the better goaltender in Games 4 and 5, and I expect him to keep his momentum going on Monday.

Golden Knights vs Stars Game 6 odds

Golden Knights vs Stars Game 6 predictions

Dallas Stars netminder Jake Oettinger has been finding his game after a rocky start to the series. Oettinger has only allowed four goals on 68 shots over his last two starts while posting a .940 save percentage.

In the other crease, Adin Hill has given up seven goals over the same period while facing 76 shots and producing a .906 SV%. Even if Hill hasn’t been as strong recently, he's remained absolutely phenomenal on the road in the 2023 playoffs. Hill has put up a 3-2 record on the road while boasting a 1.87 goals against average and .948 SV%

The nerves will become more apparent as the series continues, especially now that both sides are feeling the effect. There was no reason for the Vegas Golden Knights to be nervous in Game 5, as they held a safe 3-1 lead with a chance to close out the series at home. Now the momentum has completely shifted in favor of Dallas. The Stars are returning home after winning two straight games with a chance to come back from being down 3-0 in this series and force a Game 7.

First periods have been relatively high-scoring in this series, with the Over hitting in four straight contests. However, Oettinger wasn't at his best earlier in this series, and he's found his form recently. Oettinger has also been significantly better when facing elimination and when on home ice.

He's 4-1 during his career when facing elimination, boasting a .949 save percentage in that span. Oettinger is also 6-3 on home ice during the 2023 playoffs while boasting a .922 save percentage.

The Stars are allowing the least amount of high-danger chances against per 60 minutes in the postseason. I expect them to continue tightening up defensively, especially in the early going of Monday’s game.

Both Jake Oettinger and Adin Hill have been strong in the blue paint, so I like the first period Under to hit.

My best bet: First period Under 1.5 (+100 at BetMGM)

Golden Knights vs Stars Game 6 same-game parlay

Stars to win

Under 5.5

Roope Hintz anytime scorer

The Dallas Stars own all of the momentum while heading back to home ice. Oettinger has been phenomenal in the last two games, and he's performed much better on home ice in the postseason.

Roope Hintz hasn’t scored since Game 1 of this series, but he's still made an impact on most contests. He registered five shots on goal during Game 5 while creating many scoring chances. Hintz is due for a goal on Monday.

Golden Knights vs Stars Game 6 moneyline and Over/Under analysis

Monday's tilt will come down to which goaltender plays better. The Stars and Golden Knights have been relatively even as the series has continued, with four of the five games being very closely played.

With the way Oettinger has looked in the previous two contests, I don’t see the Golden Knights running up the score. He's been incredible during his career when facing elimination, and that trend will continue.

Hill probably put together his worst game of the playoffs in Game 5, so it will be interesting to see how he bounces back. However, he's been very strong on the road all playoffs. That's why this should be a very low-scoring elimination game.

The Stars have been a much better team on home ice in the playoffs, and guys like Oettinger and Jason Robertson will continue to impress. Robertson has been lights-out in this series, scoring five goals in five games. Getting Jamie Benn back in the lineup is also going to be huge for the Stars.

The Stars will force a Game 7, but the Under will hit due to the quality of the goaltending.
