The Chicago Blackhawks host the Florida Panthers on Thursday night at the United Center at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Chicago demonstrated some promise with its newly formed first line of Connor Bedard, Jason Dickinson, and Joey Anderson, and my Panthers vs. Blackhawks predictions believe this line will find success once again tonight.

My analysis
Luke Richardson continues to shake up the lines for the struggling Chicago Blackhawks, but he appears to be moving forward with the newly established Bedard-Dickinson-Anderson line. Despite losing 3-2 to the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night, Jason Dickinson recorded two goals, both on passes from Connor Bedard.

The biggest winner of this new line formation is Dickinson, not only because of the two-goal performance but because of his ceiling moving forward. Bedard is already one of the better playmakers in hockey, and with him being so far-and-away the best player on this team, he's always forced to contribute through facilitation as defenses hone in on him every time he touches the puck.

That fact is why Bedard’s scoring is down while his assists are up. Meanwhile, we know Dickinson can finish, given his recent two-goal performance and the fact that he was tied for the team lead in goals last season with 22.

On the other hand, the Florida Panthers are a team you can score on. They rank 21st in goals allowed per game and 23rd in xGA/60. Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is also dealing with regression this season with his .893 SV% through 14 starts.

Panthers vs Blackhawks same-game parlay (SGP)

Jason Dickinson anytime goalscorer

Connor Bedard Over 0.5 points

Over 6.5

I’ve already discussed the correlation between Bedard and Dickinson, and the latter is a direct beneficiary of Bedard’s skill. Dating back to last season, Bedard has assisted on four of Dickinson’s past six goals.

Chicago also struggles mightily in the defensive zone. The Hawks rank in the bottom half of the league in goals allowed per game, xGA/60, shots on goal allowed per game, and penalty kill percentage.
