We’ve got seven games on the NHL betting slate tonight, including an all-Canadian matchup between the Winnipeg Jets and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The NHL odds like Toronto to win the game, but the goalie on the other side may have something to say about that.

Jets vs Maple Leafs odds
Jets vs Maple Leafs predictions
The Winnipeg Jets vs. Toronto Maple Leafs rivalry is one of the more underrated ones in the NHL. Sparks fly when these teams play one another, and things should certainly get tense over the final week before the All-Star break with a home-and-home upcoming against each other.
Toronto has been the victor more times than not when these two teams compete, winning seven of the last 10 games. However, the Jets are a much better squad this season than in years past and have been one of the hottest teams in hockey.
Winnipeg has been one of the best defensive teams in the NHL this season, allowing a league-low 2.39 goals against per game. Prior to their Wednesday loss to Boston, the Jets went 34 straight games without allowing four or more goals in a single game. In other words, fading the Jets’ opposition by betting Under the team total of 3.5 goals went 34-0 in that span.
I say we go back to the well for tonight’s best bet and fade the Leafs offense, taking the Under on the team total of 3.5 goals for the home side.
A streak like that doesn’t happen by accident. The Jets are a Top-10 team in every defensive category and have Connor Hellebuyck, the clear-cut favorite in the Vezina Trophy odds, between the pipes with a league-leading 2.17 GAA and a .925 SV%.
Goals will be hard to come by for a Maple Leafs team that has struggled to score lately, going Under 3.5 goals in five of their last seven games.
My best bet: Maple Leafs team total Under 3.5 (-155 at Sports Interaction)

Jets vs Maple Leafs same-game parlay
For Leg 1 of my same-game parlay, I’ll lock in the Under on the team total of 3.5 goals on the home side Maple Leafs.
Next up, I like the Jets to win the game on the moneyline. Winnipeg is one of just three teams to have 30 wins on the year and have been 8-2 on the moneyline in their last 10.
The Jets’ physical style of hockey often gives the Leafs fits, and I think that’ll factor into tonight’s game too. Plus, I’ll roll with Hellebuyck over Ilya Samsonov in net all day long.
For my final leg, let’s roll with an anytime goal from Kyle Connor. Despite missing 16 games this season, Connor still leads the Jets with 18 goals. He’s gone back-to-back without scoring but has seven goals in his last seven games against Toronto.
With Samsonov in net, there’s a good chance Connor makes it eight in eight.

Jets vs Maple Leafs moneyline and Over/Under analysis
The Maple Leafs come into tonight as the favorites at -130 odds, with the Jets entering as the underdog at +105. To get one of the best and hottest teams in the NHL at plus-money is incredible value. They’re a stingy defensive team with excellent goaltending that plays hard. That’s often a combo that doesn’t bode well for the Leafs.
The total for tonight’s game is sitting at 6, with both sides paying -110. The total isn’t a play that I love in tonight’s matchup.
My best bet suggests the Leafs will be kept to three goals or less, and that’s pretty much a lock considering the Jets were able to do that in 34 of their last 35 games. What concerns me with the total is the uncertainty of what type of performance we’ll get out of Leafs netminder Ilya Samsonov. He’s coming off a one-goal game Sunday night in Seattle, but he’s been unable to string together multiple strong performances all season long.
