The Ottawa Senators and Winnipeg Jets are back in action following the holiday break, and both clubs will look to keep their hot streaks going.

Kyle Connor has been one of the NHL’s hottest players in December, with 18 points in 12 games, and my Jets vs. Senators predictions and NHL picks are banking on him to have another multi-point showing.

My Jets analysis
The Winnipeg Jets will look to pick up where they left off before the holiday break as they skated to back-to-back five-goal outings against the Wild and Maple Leafs.

Kyle Connor was all over the score sheet in both games, with two goals and five points across the two contests, and I’m expecting another multi-point performance from the Jets star tonight against the Ottawa Senators.

Connor comes into Saturday night with eight goals and 18 points over his last 10 games — the only players with more goals over that span are Zach Hyman (10) and Jake Guentzel (9), while Leon Draisaitl (20) is the only one with more points.

The Jets winger has also amassed four multi-point outings through his last five games and six over his last nine.

Connor has been especially deadly on the power play, where he’s picked up five goals and eight points during his 10-game hot streak.

Winnipeg owns the league’s top power play at 32.1%, while Ottawa has been porous on the penalty kill at 77.3% (22nd). That should help Connor produce.

Jets vs Senators odds analysis

Winnipeg opened at -153, with that number sliding as high as -187 at some books by Friday night. Interestingly, though, the Senators (8-2-1, 17 points) are actually tied with the Bruins for the most points in the NHL since the start of December, a couple ahead of the Jets (7-4-1, 15 points).

Ottawa’s success has been heavily carried by goaltending as Linus Ullmark leads all netminders with an otherworldly .956 SV% through nine games in December. Ullmark picked up a back injury just before Christmas, though, which could give the Jets a big upper hand in net as Connor Hellebuyck is expected to start.

Tonight’s total opened at 6, with the Under going 5-1 in Ottawa’s last six games and 13-7 in Winnipeg’s last 20 contests. The Under has also cashed in four straight meetings.

Connor Hellebuyck has surrendered two goals or fewer in six of his last nine starts and hasn’t allowed more than three goals in a game since November 16 — a span of 14 straight appearances.
