An all-Canadian matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and the Toronto Maple Leafs at Rogers Arena takes place tonight.
Despite Toronto's struggles winning in Vancouver, the Buds have been able to pepper the goalie with an abundance of shots, thus making Auston Matthews' shot total the topic of discussion in my Maple Leafs vs. Canucks predictions.

My Leafs analysis
The Toronto Maple Leafs haven't done a lot of winning in Vancouver lately, having lost seven in a row at Rogers Arena, with their last win there coming in December of 2019. That being said, the Leafs have often been the better team in these games, averaging 39 shots per contest over the seven-game losing skid.
Will a barrage of shots suddenly turn into a plethora of goals in this matchup? Probably not, especially with Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko finding his game recently, posting a .952 SV% over his last four starts.
So, the goal market may not be a good value bet, but the Leafs shot prop market sure seems juicy. It’s been very profitable over Toronto's last four trips to BC, during which the team has averaged 46 shots on goal.
The Maple Leafs are averaging 31 shots per game over their last 10 games, with Auston Matthews leading the way with 43.
Matthews leads the team with an average of 4.02 shots per game this season. He’s gone Over this total (3.5) five times in his last seven outings, where he’s firing off 4.85 shots per game over that stretch — including a six-shot performance on Tuesday night with his newly formed line.
According to Friday’s practice lines, Matthews will continue to skate alongside the pass-happy Max Domi tonight, which proved to be fruitful in Seattle, with AM34 ripping six shots on net in the win.
The trio of Matthews, Domi, and Matthew Knies also saw many offensive zone starts, which gave the line a good starting point for producing offense and putting shots on the board.
I expect much of the same tonight.
Maple Leafs vs Canucks same-game parlay (SGP)
For the first leg of the SGP, we’ll double down on our best bet and take Matthews to get 4+ shots on goal.
Matthews has gone five games without a goal for the first time since 2022. He’s due, and he’s scored 18 times against Vancouver through 24 career games.
Bobby McMann is playing confidently and shooting the puck regularly. He has scored three goals in a row and has had two or more shots in six of his last eight games.
