We’ve got five games on the NHL betting slate today, including a cross-conference clash between the Minnesota Wild and the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotia Bank Arena.

The Leafs have had a lot of success against Minny lately, largely due to the offensive burst William Nylander has given them in this matchup over the past few years, hence why he’s the subject of my Maple Leafs vs. Wild predictions for tonight.

My Leafs analysis
The Toronto Maple Leafs look to get back into the win column tonight when they host the weakened Minnesota Wild

Minny will be without two of its best players tonight. Kirill Kaprizov underwent lower-body surgery and will miss a month of the season, and on the back end, Jonas Brodin is still out and will miss his 11th straight game.

The Wild have struggled since the injuries to these two occurred, winning just four of the 10 games since Brodin was injured, allowing 31.3 shots per game, and ranking 30th in GAA while allowing four or more goals in seven of the 10 outings.

This is why I’m targeting Maple Leafs offensive props for my best bet tonight, and nobody has feasted on the Wild as much as William Nylander has over the past few years.

The Swedish sniper has scored in five straight meetings against Minnesota, totaling seven goals in that span. He’s also averaging a goal per game against the Wild’s projected starting netminder, Filip Gustavson, with four goals in four contests.

Additionally, Minnesota has struggled mightily while shorthanded this season. In the 10 games without Brodin, Minny has killed off just 65% of the penalties it's accrued. There are plenty of avenues for Nylander to get on the board tonight.

Maple Leafs vs Wild same-game parlay (SGP)

William Nylander anytime goalscorer

William Nylander 3+ shots on goal

Maple Leafs moneyline

Nylander has hit this number in five straight games, and the Wild are giving up the sixth most shots on goal per game this season. Plus, with Domi and Holmberg as his linemates, he should get favorable offensive-zone starts to give him an edge here.

Toronto has won five of the last six meetings against Minnesota. Additionally, Minny has been struggling lately, losing six of its last nine games. Advantage Leafs.
