Best NHL parlay picks for Monday

NHL parlay pick

Alexis Lafreniere 3+ shots on goal

Jake Guentzel anytime goal

Tyler Seguin anytime goal

Lafreniere 3+ shots on goal

It’s been a breakout season for Alexis Lafreniere, and the first overall pick of the 2020 NHL Draft has been a wrecking ball for the New York Rangers as they look to finish off the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 5.

Lafreniere had a goal in Game 4, though the ‘Canes hung on to win 4-3 and avoid the sweep. That makes it three straight games he’s lit the lamp while registering a point in every game in the series.

His run of success also happens to coincide with his willingness to shoot the puck, and that’s what we’re targeting here. Lafreniere had three shots in Game 4, and he’s had at least that many in three straight, missing out on a fourth by a single shot in Game 1.

Among New York’s Top 5 scorers in the playoffs, he’s tied with Vincent Trochek for the most shots against Carolina. Expect more rubber to the net in Game 5.

Guentzel anytime goal

If the Hurricanes have any plans on bringing the series back to Raleigh, Jake Guentzel will be involved.

With an assist in the Game 4 win, Guentzel has recorded at least a point in every game against New York, and he’s hit the scoresheet in seven of the last eight postseason contests.

Since joining Carolina, he has figured in the scoring summary in 21 of the 26 games. The last time the ‘Canes were at Madison Square Garden, he posted his only 2-goal game of the playoffs in an eventual 4-3 double-OT loss.

Carolina’s leading goal scorer in the playoffs will need to come up big at MSG to get this one to a Game 6.

Seguin anytime goal

After a quiet opener, Tyler Seguin rediscovered his goal-scoring prowess against the Colorado Avalanche.

Seguin potted a pair in Game 3, leading the Dallas Stars to a 4-1 road win and a 2-1 series lead. That’s back-to-back games where Seguin has found the back of the net, and he’s been on an incredible scoring tear against Colorado.

Including regular season action, the veteran center has now scored a goal in six of the last seven games against the Avs, his Game 3 performance the fourth time he’s tallied twice in a contest.

Dallas boasts a multi-pronged offensive attack — eight Stars have scored at least twice in the playoffs, with 11 goal scorers overall — with Seguin sitting fifth on the team in scoring.

He has still logged the fifth-most time on ice among Dallas forwards in the playoffs at 16:34 per game and has taken at least three shots in every game in the series.

If the Stars plan to leave Colorado with two wins, Seguin’s scoring touch would be a big help.

Today's NHL same-game parlay picks

Our betting experts have scoured through today's NHL odds to find your best SGP bets for each game on Monday's playoff slate:

Rangers vs Hurricanes same-game parlay (SGP)

Mika Zibanejad Over 0.5 assists

Sebastian Aho Over 0.5 points

Over 5.5

Mika Zibanejad has been helping to lead the way for the Rangers, and it’s been Sebastian Aho for the Hurricanes. He’s picked up a point in all four games thus far, including two multi-point games in New York to start the series.

I'm also going with the Over 5.5 to close out this same-game parlay. Three of the four games in this series have gone well Over that number, and if the Rangers are ahead late, we could see the Canes pull their goalie multiple times in desperation.

Stars vs Avalanche same-game parlay (SGP)

Stars moneyline

Tyler Seguin anytime goalscorer

Tyler Seguin has scored three times over the past two games in this series, and we should not be shocked that positive regression is finally starting to hit for the veteran forward. Despite ranking second on the team in scoring chances this postseason, Seguin had been held off the goal sheet in every playoff game until the past two.

He has now scored 10 times over the past seven meetings between these two teams, so I'm riding the hot hand.
