NHL Player Props and Best Bets Today for 11-6: A Stone's Throw

Mark Stone and Jack Eichel match up well against the Oilers' subpar goaltending, which will benefit a stacking opportunity for the Vegas duo. That and more in tonight's NHL player props.

Coming off a small winning night, the NHL has slimmed things down with a three-game slate, which is fine by me. Looking over fewer games always allows you to find things you wouldn't always do on big-slate days.

I think the Washington Capitals keep rolling tonight and can score 4+ goals vs. the Nashville Predators, the Detroit Red Wings can hold off the returning Chicago Blackhawks but will give up a ton of shots, while the Vegas Golden Knights roll over the Edmonton Oilers and Stuart Skinner on the road.

These are my three favorite NHL player props for Wednesday, November 6.

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets

Prop bet #1: Connor McMichael Over 0.5 points

+100 at Sports Interaction

Washington Capitals second-line center  Connor McMichael has been a force on an undervalued team that has won six straight home games while averaging 5.2 goals per game over that stretch. He is also playing on the top power play, which should help boost the worst PP in hockey.

The Caps rank No. 2 in expected goals for/60 at all strengths, which is very impressive considering that ugly — and unlucky — man advantage that should see some improvements going forward.

The former first-rounder has a point in eight of 11 games and is coming off a season-high in TOI at 21:07. He is averaging north of 110 seconds more on the ice over his last five games compared to the beginning of the season, so there are more opportunities for the forward to score.

His role in this offense is growing and getting him for a point tonight at even money is a deal when he has 12 points over 11 games.

Prop bet #2: Jack Eichel + Mark Stone Over 0.5 points each

+122 at DraftKings

Jack Eichel's point prop has fallen to 0.5 from 1.5, which makes stacking him with Vegas Golden Knights linemate Mark Stone (20 points in 12 games) an easy decision. This is a Vegas offense that has scored 3+ goals in nine of its last 10 and 4+ in five of six. I love the Golden Knights ML at -105 today, but this is the better way to bet them tonight in a game where the visitors could score 4+ goals vs. Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner.

The projected Edmonton goalie is 3-4-1 on the season but his save percentage of .881% is showing a below-average netminder. Stone and Eichel have pointed together in nine of their 12 games this year.

The second line of Pavel Dorofeyev and Tomas Hertl is also paying north of +300 to get a point each as I think the Knights can have a great night offensively.

Prop bet #3: Ryan Donato Over 2.5 SOG

+135 at DraftKings

I'm betting the Detroit Red Wings on the moneyline tonight at -120 but I also think there will be a ton of shots in this matchup with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Chicago is coming back from a five-game West-Coast road trip, so they might be flat early, but the Wings give up more shots on goals than any team in hockey outside of the Ducks and if they are protecting a lead, Chicago will be shooting even more.

Many might want to hit Connor Bedard at 4+ shots on goal at +135 as he has been struggling to score with just three goals despite shooting a lot. It's not a bad look but I think his new linemate and PP1 partner Ryan Donato for 3+ SOG at +140 is the better deal.

He has points in five straight games (5G and 2A) while going 4-1 O/U on his 2.5 shot total. This is an elite price and the ladder to 5 SOG is certainly something to consider.
