Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets

Prop bet #1: Tough to stop Tyson

The Philadelphia Flyers have been one of the most surprising teams in the league this season. They’ve had a few young players step up, including rookie winger Tyson Foerster.

Foerster struggled in the goalscoring department early on with just three assists in his first 15 games and one goal in his first 20 contests. However, he's got 15 goals in 36 games since November 30.

The rookie forward has had his fair share of ups and downs this season but he’s been especially impressive over the past month or so. He scored two goals in the Flyers’ final game before the All-Star break and has six goals in his last five games after missing two weeks with a foot injury.

Foerster has also seen an increased role as of late due to All-Star Travis Konecny missing time with an upper-body injury. Konecny is still out on Monday night so Foerster should continue to see an opportunity in the top-six and on the power play. He fired seven shots on goal on Saturday night, scoring twice — including a penalty shot.

We’re getting better than 2/1 odds for Foerster to keep up his hot streak against a St. Louis Blues team that allowed 13 goals during their last three-game road trip.

Tyson Foerster prop: Anytime goalscorer (+220 at Bet99)

Prop bet #2: Set-up by Shea

The Vegas Golden Knights have battled through injuries throughout their lineup this season, including defenseman Shea Theodore. He’s been limited to just 26 games but has 27 points (24 assists) in that time.

Theodore recently returned from injury and he hasn’t missed a beat. In fact, he’s only gotten better. After putting up 18 points (14 assists) in his first 20 games, the blueliner has nine assists in six games since returning.

Vegas has lost two straight games but scoring hasn’t been an issue. The Knights have scored 25 goals during their 2-4-1 stretch and they should be able to get a handful on the board against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Columbus allows the second-most goals per game in the league (3.65) and Daniil Tarasov (4-8-2, 3.62 GAA, .888 SV%) is expected to start in net for the Blue Jackets.

Shea Theodore prop: Over 0.5 assists (+100 at Bet99)

Prop bet #3: Mile High Mikko

Speaking of bad teams, the Chicago Blackhawks are the Mile High City to take on the Colorado Avalanche who are waiting to feast on them. The Avs beat the Blackhawks 5-0 last week in Chicago and they shouldn’t have much of a problem tonight either.

The issue is finding value in betting on the Avalanche, and we can do that via Mikko Rantanen to record an assist.

Rantanen has an assist in six straight games and eight of his last nine overall. On the season, Rantanen has 78 points (47 assists) in 62 games. He’s recorded an assist in 34 of those contests.

The Blackhawks followed up their 5-0 loss to the Avalanche with a 5-2 loss to the Blue Jackets. They’re struggling defensively and the Avs’ top line should be able to take advantage tonight.

Mikko Rantanen prop: Over 0.5 assists (-145 at Bet99)
