Wild vs Stars Odds, Picks, and Predictions Tonight: Seguin is Shining Star in Dallas

The Wild have been playing some awful hockey of late, and the Stars were the latest beneficiaries on Monday. Our NHL betting picks like Dallas and Tyler Seguin to double-dip and pick up another two points at Minnesota's expense this Wednesday.

NHL Dallas Stars Tyler Seguin

The Minnesota Wild and Dallas Stars will face off for the second time in three days when the puck drops at American Airlines Center tonight. The Stars are significant home favorites in the NHL odds.

Tyler Seguin has been heating up for Dallas with four goals in his last three games and will look to keep the good times rolling against a Minnesota team that’s picked up just one win in its last six contests.

Will Seguin find the score sheet again and help the hosts to victory? Find out in my Wild vs. Stars NHL picks and predictions for Wednesday, January 10.

Wild vs Stars odds

Wild vs Stars predictions

Tyler Seguin continued his hot streak against the Minnesota Wild on Monday, potting a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win for the Dallas Stars. The Stars center has now scored in three straight contests while averaging 3.67 shots per game over that span — well above his season average of 2.13.

Seguin will look to carry his hot stick into tonight’s rematch against Minnesota, and I’ll look to capitalize on that by picking the Tyler Seguin odds to score as my best bet.

The Wild have hit a rough patch with just one win over their last six contests, allowing at least three goals in each of those games and four goals in three of those outings. It’s unclear who will start between the pipes for Minnesota but either way, Seguin & Co. will like their chances.

Marc-Andre Fleury has had a poor start to his new year, allowing 10 total goals over his last three starts and posting a sub .900 SV% in each of those contests. Fleury gave up four goals to the Stars on just 20 shots on Monday for an abysmal .800 SV%.

The other option would be Jesper Wallstedt, a 21-year-old netminder who was called up on Sunday but has yet to make his NHL debut. Wallstedt owns a .917 SV% and 2.54 goals against average in 20 games with the Iowa Wild of the AHL this season, but it’s hard to see him solving Minnesota’s problems on his own.

My best bet: Tyler Seguin anytime goal (+205 at DraftKings)

Wild vs Stars same-game parlay

Tyler Seguin anytime goal

Tyler Seguin Over 2.5 shots on goal

Jason Robertson Over 3.5 shots on goal

I’ll lean heavily on Dallas’ NHL player props in tonight’s same-game parlay as I double up on Seguin and throw in a Jason Robertson shot prop.

Seguin has been shooting the puck at an impressive clip over the past few weeks, putting at least three shots on net in three straight games and four of his last five outings. He should be feeling confident with goals in three straight so I like him to cash the Over on 2.5 shots tonight.

Robertson has also been throwing a ton of rubber on net with four or more shots in six of his last 11 contests, so I’ll round out the parlay by taking him to hit Over 3.5 shots. He leads Dallas with 114 shots this season.

Wild vs Stars moneyline and Over/Under analysis

The Stars skate into tonight’s game as the big favorite on home ice at -191 on the moneyline while the total opened at 6.5 goals. With the Wild missing several key players, I like the hosts to pick up two points while cashing the Under.

Minnesota continues to play without two of its top defensemen in Jared Spurgeon and Jonas Brodin, while leading scorer Kirill Kaprizov is also sidelined. Unsurprisingly, the Wild have lost four of five games since Kaprizov left the lineup in late December, scoring just eight total goals over that span.

Dallas, meanwhile, has gone 8-2-3 over its last 13 games, scoring 4.08 goals per game through that span — tied with Vancouver for the best offense in the NHL since December 11. Given how weak Minnesota’s offense has been without Kaprizov, the Stars shouldn’t have a problem outscoring the Wild tonight.

Minnesota has seen six or fewer total goals scored in five of its last six games thanks to its stunted offense, and after being shut out by Dallas on Monday, I think we’ll see another low-scoring effort from the visitors in this matchup. The Wild have also managed to score more than two goals just once in their last six outings.

The Stars have been playing in some high-scoring games themselves of late but these clubs tend to keep it low, cashing the Under in four of their last five meetings.
