With goals hard to come by for both sides, Chris Vasile believes there's plenty of value in taking the Under tonight at BMO Field.

We've got an international friendly on our hands tonight as Canada plays host to Panama at BMO Field in Toronto.

Given the visitor's recent struggles to score, my Canada vs. Panama predictions believe goals will be few and far between.

My analysis

On the heels of an impressive Copa America debut, Canada has played two friendlies against the United States and Mexico, which have returned some positive results.

A 2-1 win away to the USA is a great result in a game where they bossed possession, goal attempts, and xGF. The defense held firm — which was always going to be the big question mark for a team that was unable to keep the opposition out during the business end of the Copa America tournament.

Canada followed up that win with a drab 0-0 draw at home to Mexico. This was a game that was always going to test Canada's defensive efforts, and they passed the test with El Tri registering only three shots on target.

Given Canada's current form, I believe the defense will once again shine tonight against a Panama side that's not done much scoring of late. Panama enter this contest with back-to-back defeats to nil, including a 2-0 loss to the same U.S. side the Canadians beat.

Canada is expected to field a strong starting XI in front of their home crowd and I don't believe Panama will be able to crack the Canadian defense. Historically, these two teams have played Under 2.5 goals in seven of the last eight head-to-heads.

At EVEN money, this is a great price to take the Under.
