Uruguay vs Brazil Odds, Picks & Predictions: La Celeste Shine in Copa America Quarterfinal

It's a match made for a Final, but only one team will book their ticket to the semifinals when Uruguay and Brazil clash on Saturday at Allegiant Stadium. Our betting expert believes in Uruguay's collective cause and says not to overlook the massive absence of Vini Jr. for Brazil.

It's a fixture fit for a final when Uruguay takes on Brazil in the final quarterfinal match of Copa America 2024.

Uruguay have not put a single foot wrong ahead of this showdown, while Brazil have struggled to score and will be without Vinicius Junior for this contest.

How will that affect my Uruguay vs. Brazil predictions? Find out as I break down the Copa America odds ahead of this Saturday, July 6 match.

Uruguay vs Brazil picks, predictions, and betting tips

My best bet:
Uruguay to qualify (-108 at Betano)

My analysis
As a neutral football fan, the fact that two elite teams are facing off before at least the semifinals is criminal. One of these great football nations will be sent packing and for the loser, it will be as close to a national disaster as it gets.

Many pegged Brazil as the team to take back the crown from Argentina, but they've not played up to normal Brazilian standards. A win and two draws is far from what is expected of them, and many would be quick to point to Neymar's absence as the reason the offense has tapered off (outside of the Paraguay game).

If that's the case, then the absence of Vinicius Junior — their best player through three games — is going to severely affect their chances. Vini Jr. will miss this game due to yellow card accumulation and given how stout Uruguay has been defensively, Brazil will be up against it.

Speaking of Uruguay, this is a team that has done nothing wrong through three group-stage games, netting nine while giving up just one. They are getting scoring from all angles, including their leading talisman Darwin Nunez who has now scored 10 goals over his last eight matches for his country.

If we look at just the body of work for both teams, I believe Uruguay are the more complete team. They are cohesive and playing for the collective whereas Brazil seems a disjointed side playing for individual accolades.

Uruguay vs Brazil same-game parlay (SGP)

Uruguay to qualify

Uruguay to score first

Brazil Under 1.5 goals

If we are backing Uruguay to qualify as our best bet, then we must believe they score the first goal of the game and put the pressure squarely on the shoulders of Brazil. This is a team that's opened the scoring in four straight fixtures, and with a defense that is giving away very little, Brazil will struggle to find the back of the net all game long. Uruguay has given up two or more goals just once over their last 10 games, and they kept Brazil scoreless in a WCQ back in October.
