Romania raised eyebrows with their 3-0 win over Ukraine on MD1 but can they once more beat the odds against Slovakia on Wednesday in Frankfurt to advance into the Round of 16 at Euro 2024?
My Slovakia vs. Romania prediction expects more strong play from the Romanians even after coming up short vs. Belgium in their second contest.
A draw would help both teams in their pursuit of the Round of 16, but my Euro 2024 picks are targeting one Man (Dennis, in fact) to shine.

My analysis
Dennis Man was one of Romania's top performers in their impressive win over Ukraine, providing assists for two of the three goals. Man, used on the right side of the attack, is not a typical winger. He likes to cut in, looking to endanger the opponent and get his name on the scoresheet as often as possible. The 25-year-old is fresh from getting promoted to the Italian Serie A with Parma. He was named player of the season at his club, as his performance shaped Parma's campaign. He scored 12 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions to help regain Serie A status after three years in the second tier of Italian football.
The forward has looked to replicate his form at the national team level and, judging by what we've seen so far at the Euros, he is a standout. Adding to the two assists he provided vs. Ukraine, Man is ever-present in his team's attacks. Manager Edward Iordănescu counts on Man's ball control and dribbling abilities, as well as his shooting, and asks him to look out for a finish as much as possible.
He had one shot against Ukraine, which was blocked, but numbers changed dramatically against Belgium. He attempted three shots and all of them were on goal. Man will look to build on his convincing performances so far and get a goal for himself against Slovakia.
At +210, the Betano odds for Man shooting at least once on goal vs. Slovakia look excellent. If you're in the search for something more adventurous, Man scoring anytime during the match is at +400.

Daniel Siebert, the referee chosen to lead the game in Frankfurt, is no stranger to bookings at this Euros edition. In the only match he officiated thus far, the 1-1 draw between Georgia and the Czech Republic, he showed no fewer than nine yellow cards. Considering the high intensity expected in this qualification decider and with both teams having some rather physical players in defense and midfield, Siebert should be involved in the action, too.
The Romanians were great against Ukraine, winning their group opener 3-0, and could consider themselves unlucky not to have scored against Belgium, as they wasted five big chances. They look well-equipped to get a result that would see them through for the only second time at the Euros. Romania only advanced from the group stage at Euro 2000, before being eliminated by eventual finalists Italy in the quarter-finals. Now, they look well enough to expect a result that would see them through after two dismal tournaments in 2008 and 2016.
