This week we’re seeing the second leg of several FA Cup ties, one of which being Everton vs Crystal Palace. The first leg saw a 0-0 draw in South London with Everton down to 10 men. It wasn’t an exciting game at all but will the replay be better and what is the best bet for the game?

Everton vs Crystal Palace picks and predictions
On Wednesday we’re set to see a replay of Everton vs Crystal Palace. These two met in the FA Cup a week and a half ago in South London with the game finished tied at 0-0. That’s meant that the teams have to meet this Wednesday at Goodison Park with the winner securing their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The first leg was a tight affair, and if we are honest, not an exciting one. The teams were nearly level on shots with Everton having 13 to Crystal Palace’s 11, with both teams having three on target. It was the home side Palace who shaded possession though with 53% of the ball although they’d have been disappointed not to win the game given that Everton finished the tie with 10 players after striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin got sent off in the 79th minute of the game.
For this FA Cup Third Round replay between Everton and Crystal Palace, my best bet is for Everton to win, which you can get at -114.
There are several reasons for this but one of the most important is something that happened on Monday with it being announced that Everton, as well as Nottingham Forest, had been charged with breaching financial rules. It’s the second time this season for Everton who have already had a 10-point deduction, with speculation that they may be docked another six points.
After that last points deduction, we saw the Everton team play well. That was in part down to the work of Sean Dyche, with the Everton manager using the punishment as a motivator for his players and creating an ‘us against the world’ mentality. After the disappointment of that verdict, we saw the club play well and I believe that a second charge will only further instill that mentality and help them gel more as a group.
Had Everton not had that 10-point deduction they’d be on 27 points currently which would have them 12th in the Premier League table, six points ahead of Crystal Palace, which I think gives a fair representation of just how superior this Everton team are. They’ve not only outscored Palace this season but also given up fewer goals and Dyche has created a team who are a solid unit, while also hugely improving on their attacking play of last season.
Everton haven’t won any of their past six games, but when you dig deeper they’ve played Aston Villa, Man City, and Spurs in that time frame, three excellent teams, and only lost one of the other three games. Their recent form isn’t great but that’s largely down to who they have played rather than their own performances.
The home side is the best team in this encounter and in front of another angry and fired-up Goodison Park crowd, they’ll do enough to win this game and progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
My best bet: Everton moneyline (-114 at TonyBet)

Everton vs Crystal Palace same-game parlay
This is a +450 Same-Game Parlay for Everton vs Crystal Palace in the FA Cup that builds on our best bet for the game.
As always with our SGP picks we start with our best bet for the game, which in this case is for Everton to win. In the Premier League, they’ve won eight games to Palace’s five and in recent weeks they have had some good performances, despite not winning, such as this past weekend’s 0-0 draw against a very good Aston Villa team. In front of a home crowd who are angry about their treatment from the FA it’s going to be very loud, something that will only spur the team on.
Next, we’re going to back Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin to get on the scoresheet. The Englishman has only bagged four goals this season, across all competitions, but he’ll be raring to go here and he’s a top player. Palace’s defense has looked suspect at times in this campaign and I feel he could cause them issues. He won eight aerial duels when the teams met in the first game and had two shots, I’d expect him to build on that.
To wrap up the Same-Game Parlay we’re going to back both teams to get a card in the game. This really should land given what we’ve seen from both teams this season. If you look at the Premier League we’ve seen Everton pick up 45 cards in 21 games with Palace managing 28 in 20 games. Both teams are over one card per game and you’d expect that average to continue here.

Everton vs Crystal Palace side and Over/Under analysis
I’m backing Everton as my best bet for this game at odds of -114 for all the reasons listed above. If you don’t fancy them you can get the draw at +255 or an away win at an even bigger price of +300. If you are purely interested in who reaches the next round you can get Everton at -182 or Palace at +145, which would cover you if this game were to reach penalties. That said, I expect it to be over inside the 90 minutes.
Over 2.5 goals is coming in at +105 with Under 2.5 goals at -130. You’d probably lean towards the Under after that 0-0 game when they last met, I think we’re likely to see Everton win this 1-0 or 2-0 with the game being tight and cagey.
