Two members of Europe's elite club are set to meet up at the iconic San Siro, but a high-scoring affair won't be in play despite the game's poster.

Italy is unbeaten in the Nations League season so far and will look to keep a clean record as they finish the campaign against group favorites France.

My Italy vs. France predictions expect goals to be at a premium on Sunday, as broken down in my free betting picks for November 17.

Italy vs France picks and predictions

My best bet:
Under 2.5 goals (-130 at TonyBet)

My analysis

Throughout the 2024 Nations League campaign, Italy showed they know how to take advantage of every little chance they get to harm their opponents.

Despite the disappointing Euro 2024 early exit, head coach Luciano Spalletti was kept in charge and he managed to build a competitive engine for the national team. Italy started with a 3-1 win over France in Paris, followed by wins in three of their next four games.

The excellent point return for Squadra Azzurra included a narrow 1-0 away win over Belgium and a spectacular 2-2 draw against the same opponent in Rome.

Italy continues to force counters at an elite level, and France will see their offense take a nosedive with Kylian Mbappe not suiting up. This will be the sixth and final international game in a competition that isn’t particularly popular among Europe’s biggest stars.

On Thursday, France was held to a 0-0 draw at home by Israel, and their brand of football isn't exactly screaming 'goals' right now. Take the Under on Sunday in Milan.

Italy vs France same-game parlay (SGP)

Under 2.5 goals

Double chance: France to win or draw

Over 3.5 bookings

Even though the duo of Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni will sit out, France's force should never be underestimated. They won't come to Italy just to watch the hosts celebrate winning the group, and they will look to also get something back following their 3-1 home defeat in September.

Given the high stakes in this game, a lot of duels should be above the yellow card limit. Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic is not easygoing when contacts cross a certain line, so a bet on Over 3.5 bookings to round up our parlay is a solid play.
