Fans will be treated to their third Madrid Derby in less than a month when Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid square off Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu. Our La Liga odds have Real Madrid favored to win this La Liga showdown.

After facing their cross-town rivals in a pair of cup ties within eight days of each other in mid-January, Real Madrid have won three straight in league play. The first two of those were comeback victories, and Carlo Ancelotti was happy to see his side put together a 2-0 win over Getafe on Thursday.

Atletico enjoyed knocking their bitter rivals out of Copa del Rey, but they’d love nothing more than to help knock them back down to second in the tight La Liga title race. Diego Simeone’s men have won five straight in all competitions, and a win would move them into third and keep them somewhat in title contention.

Our Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid picks and predictions for Sunday, February 4 explain how this entertaining fixture can benefit your current betting balance.

Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid picks and predictions

As a neutral observer with no rooting interest in La Liga, I love watching Real Madrid play. They’re a team loaded with talent at every position group, and Ancelotti always has them on the front foot. I was fortunate enough to see them in person a few months ago, and they’re simply a thrill to observe.

When they’re playing in a fierce rivalry such as this one, it all goes to another level. And the last six times they’ve met up for the Madrid Derby, Real and Atletico have put on a show. All six matches have seen both teams on the scoresheet, with four or more goals being scored in regulation in each of the last three.

While it’s taken extra time to decide a winner in each of their last three cup ties, the home team has won three straight and four of the last five. And we’re backing the home side to do just that, with both teams scoring once again.

The firepower on display for both teams is well-known. It’s also a key reason why Real Madrid have scored in 17 consecutive matches in all competitions. In fact, their 0-0 draw with Rayo Vallecano in early November is the only time they’ve failed to score in 32 fixtures.

They’ve also won all but four of those matches. Their two defeats both came at Atletico Madrid, with their two draws coming in late October and early November.

Atletico have been strong this season, with just six defeats and four draws over 32 matches. They’ve prevailed in each of their last five, keeping three clean sheets in the process.

They’ve scored in 10 straight, and although they may be without Alvaro Morata, Athletico still boast plenty of options at the offensive end. Atletico is known for their defense, but it’s optional when these sides collide. Both teams look to push forward and fire at will, as each side has notched at least six shots on goal over the two recent meetings.

The biggest factor is the fact that Atletico have lost 14 of their last 15 visits to the Bernabeu, and haven’t won a match there since 2016. Take the combo play at TonyBet, which offers a +210 payout for a Madrid win without a clean sheet.

Then settle in and watch the fireworks, both on the scoreboard and in the referee’s book.

My best bet: Real Madrid to win and both teams to score (+210 at TonyBet)

Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid same-game parlay

Real Madrid moneyline
Both teams to score - Yes
Real Madrid Over 5 corners

Over 9.5 shots on target

The most recent meeting between these sides saw them combine for 13 shots on goal in regulation, with the previous match having a total of 15 registered before extra time. They also notched nine combined from 30 shots in the reverse fixture in September, so we’ll look for at least 10 in this one.

Real Madrid don’t know a shot they won’t take, and they have earned a combined 31 corners in the three meetings with Atletico Madrid this season. They’re averaging better than 6.2 corners per match in league play, and we’ll bank on them having a floor of six attempts on Sunday.

Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid side and Over/Under analysis

Real Madrid are favored on the 3-way line across the board, with -133 being the best offer price. That makes sense considering Real have won 14 of the last 15 meetings at home against Atletico. The visitors are getting up to +375 to win, with the draw paying up to +320.

The draw offers a bit of value, but we’re backing the home side to get all three points. Atletico haven't been the best away from home this year, and Real Madrid are playing exceptionally well of late.

The total of 2.5 goals is juiced towards the Over at -154. Given the way these sides like to play against each other, and with a referee in the middle who has been showing cards like candy, this match is likely to see dangerous set pieces and possibly even a penalty.

The Over 2.5 is the way to go, but parlay it due to the juice.
