Wolverhampton have one of the toughest early-season schedules in the entire English Premier League and things don't get any easier this week against a strong and motivated foe.
The hosts are coming off consecutive 1-0 losses to Leicester and Tottenham, though they have a little momentum following a 4-0 victory over Nottingham Forest earlier this week. That said, they're sizeable underdogs against Man United, who are coming off a 1-1 draw that extended their unbeaten away streak to 27 matches in league play.

Wolves vs Manchester United predictions
Moneyline pick
You can hardly blame the Wolves for wondering what they did to rankle the 2021-22 schedule makers. Despite showing plenty of fight in those narrow losses to Tottenham and Leicester, they have zero points (and goals to match) through two games and are in danger of finding themselves in a similar situation coming out of the weekend.
United have their sights on a Premier League-record 28th consecutive away match with at least one point, which would break their current deadlock with Arsenal (who achieved the feat from April 2003 to September 2004). There's also the sour taste of that draw vs. Southampton, which leaves United two points off the pace after the first two games of the season.
New Wolves manager Bruno Lage will no doubt look to exploit a Man United back end that looked shaky against Southampton, and his club shouldn't have any trouble ratcheting up the pressure. To their credit, they have fired a whopping 42 shots through their opening two matches, second only to Liverpool league-wide. All other teams averaging 15-plus shots have scored at least five times.
Still, Manchester United are the superior club and are ever-dangerous on the counter-attack, led by Jadon Sancho, Edinson Cavani, and Mason Greenwood. The visitors should be able to weather the hosts' pressure and create enough quality scoring chances at the other end to come away with three points.
PICK: Manchester United (-134)
Total goals pick
This is a situation where it might be best to ignore recent trends between the clubs.
Five of the previous six meetings have come in under the 2.5-goal threshold, and the teams have combined to score just seven goals over that span. But Man United snapped the string of Unders with a 2-1 road win the last time these teams met back on May 23, and that total bet was decided early with all three goals coming before half.
Given how active the Wolves have been on the offensive side of the ball, and how United are still finding their defensive footing, it wouldn't be all that surprising to see the home team end its season-long goal drought. And we already know what the Man United offensive is capable of, so there's a good chance the visitors will strike multiple times here.
There are a few ways into an Over result in this one, so that's my pick.
PICK: Over 2.5 (-110)
