Last Meeting ( Mar 10, 2019 ) Milwaukee 114, San Antonio 121

The Milwaukee Bucks own the best record in the league and are cruising through the schedule, with the latest winning streak reaching four straight. The Bucks will try to build that winning streak at the expense of the struggling San Antonio Spurs, who visit Milwaukee on Saturday.

The Bucks are winners of 25 of their last 27 games but had to work harder than usual to dispatch the Minnesota Timberwolves in a 106-104 victory on Wednesday as reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo put the team on his back and collected 32 points and 17 rebounds. Antetokounmpo, who leads the NBA with 30 double-doubles, had been letting others handle some of the scoring load and did not score more than 23 points in any of his previous four games before rolling over the Timberwolves. The Spurs had a chance to sweep a three-game homestand on Thursday but instead dropped a 109-103 decision to the Oklahoma City Thunder as coach Gregg Popovich lamented the lack of ball movement. San Antonio, which hosts Milwaukee in the beck end of the home-and-home set on Monday, will play five of its next six on the road.

TIME: 8:30 p.m. ET. TV: FS Southwest, FS Wisconsin

ABOUT THE SPURS (14-19): DeMar DeRozan scored 30 points on 13-of-25 shooting on Thursday and is averaging 25.7 points while shooting 64.6 percent over the last six contests. Power forward LaMarcus Aldridge is finding his shooting range and went 4-of-4 from beyond the arc in Thursday's loss, two games after knocking down 5-of-6 in a win over Detroit. Aldridge is making an effort to extend defenses and is 14-of-20 from 3-point range over the last five games after not attempting more than three 3-pointers in any of his first 26 games.

ABOUT THE BUCKS (31-5): Antetokounmpo shot 13-of-22 from the floor on Wednesday but the rest of his teammates were a combined 27-of-72 in a rare off night from the NBA's leading offense, which averages 119.4 points on 48.3 percent shooting. All-Star small forward Khris Middleton had a string of four consecutive games scoring 20 or more points come to an end when he was held to 13 points on 5-of-18 shooting in the win while center Brook Lopez missed all five of his 3-point attempts. The Bucks made up the difference behind Antetokounmpo and a defense that held the Timberwolves to 37.4 percent shooting.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Spurs Gs Patty Mills and Bryn Forbes went a combined 1-of-12 from 3-point range on Thursday.

2. Bucks SG Wesley Matthews (thigh) sat out the last two games and is day-to-day.

3. San Antonio snapped a four-game losing streak in the series with a 121-114 home win in the most recent matchup on March 10.

PREDICTION: Bucks 125, Spurs 111
