Milwaukee @ Golden State preview

Chase Center

Last Meeting ( Dec 7, 2018 ) Golden State 105, Milwaukee 95

The Milwaukee Bucks have not hit many speed bumps this season on their way to the best record in the NBA but ran into one on Monday. The Bucks will try to bounce back and avoid their first back-to-back losses of the season when they visit the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.

Milwaukee began a four-game road trip with a 126-104 loss at San Antonio on Monday, ending a five-game winning streak and giving the team its worst loss of the 2019-20 campaign. "At the end of the day, we're sitting in a good place right now," Bucks point guard Eric Bledsoe told reporters. "This one is out the window. We can't focus on it because it kind of takes me back to the Toronto (playoff) series (last spring) when we lost, so we've just got to move on and get prepared for Golden State." The Warriors are losers of five in a row after dropping a 111-98 decision at Sacramento on Monday and are even more shorthanded than usual with Draymond Green (ankle) and D'Angelo Russell (shoulder) sitting out. "We've got to be better prepared," Golden State forward Glenn Robinson III told reporters. "I think we need to be locked in enough to fight for all 48 (minutes). I don't think we had that energy that we talk about with this young team. I didn't think we really brought it tonight."

TIME: 10 p.m. ET. TV: ESPN, FS Wisconsin, NBCS Bay Area, Sportsnet One

ABOUT THE BUCKS (32-6): Milwaukee allowed the Spurs to shoot 51.1 percent from the floor and knock down 19-of-35 from beyond the arc in the team's largest margin of loss since Mike Budenholzer took over as head coach prior to the 2018-19 season. "I mean there's no doubt that (Spurs guard DeMar) DeRozan and a few of the other guys made some tough kind of pull-up 2s, midrange, some tough floaters and then they had the 3-ball going, too, so they kind of had everything," Budenholzer told reporters. "I probably could've done a better job at coaching, maybe adjusted earlier, quicker, so I think I need to be better but like I said, we'll learn from it and hopefully we'll be better going forward." Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo collected 24 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists in the loss but went 0-of-5 from 3-point range as the team shot 40 percent from the floor.

ABOUT THE WARRIORS (9-29): Golden State is expecting Russell and Green to be ready for Wednesday's game, giving the team a pair of veterans on which to lean after the young roster shot 39.5 percent from the floor in Monday's loss. "You've got to tell them the truth with the way they're playing individually and collectively as a unit," Warriors associate head coach Mike Brown, who took over after head coach Steve Kerr was ejected for arguing with officials on Monday, told reporters of dealing with the young roster. "But at the end of the day, because they're young and haven't been there, you've got to make sure you stay positive with them." Robinson scored a team-high 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting while Omari Spellman added 13 points off the bench against the Kings.

BUZZER BEATERS

1. Bucks SF Khris Middleton is 8-of-30 from 3-point range over his last five games.

2. Warriors PF Kevon Looney (abdominal) missed the last seven games and is questionable for Wednesday.

3. Milwaukee earned the win in its last two trips to Golden State.

PREDICTION: Bucks 120, Warriors 103
