Phoenix @ Los Angeles preview

Staples Center

Last Meeting ( Jan 4, 2019 ) L.A. Clippers 121, Phoenix 111

The Los Angeles Clippers look to complete a four-game season sweep of Phoenix when they host the Suns on Wednesday. Los Angeles has defeated Phoenix 11 straight times and prevailed in 20 of the past 22 meetings.

The Suns will be looking to avoid matching the franchise's longest losing streak of 15 games, which was set last season. "It's just fighting that uphill battle," standout shooting guard Devin Booker told reporters. "When you're fighting that uphill battle, any mistake can ruin it. Just do our work early so we don't have to fight uphill all game." The Clippers also hit a lull and dropped five of their past eight games after falling 130-120 to the host Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday. "We were awful defensively," Clippers coach Doc Rivers told reporters. "The game was 48 minutes of single mistakes. We made so many mistakes."

TV: 10:30 p.m. ET, FS Arizona (Phoenix), FS Prime Ticket (Los Angeles)

ABOUT THE SUNS (11-47): Booker (hamstring) returned from a two-game absence to score 27 points in Sunday's 117-104 road loss against Sacramento and he avoided another injury when he smacked knees with Kings guard Bogdan Bogdanovic. "I've had it before, a little knee-to-knee," Booker told reporters. "It hurt worse when it first happens. Just got to wait for it get loosened up, but I was like, man, something else, but nah, it's fine." Second-year forward Josh Jackson continued his strong play with 18 points and he is averaging 19.6 points over the past eight games.

ABOUT THE CLIPPERS (31-27): Backup guard Lou Williams scored a season-best 45 points against the Timberwolves while knocking down all 16 of his free-throw attempts. "It's hard to kind of digest that when you lose a game," Williams said of his perfect night from the line. "Grand scheme of things, career-wise, it's pretty cool." Los Angeles received 89 points from its bench - power forward Montrezl Harrell tallied 18 points - compared to just 31 from the starting five.
