Cincinnati @ Buffalo preview

Highmark Stadium

Last Meeting ( Aug 26, 2018 ) Cincinnati 26, Buffalo 13

The Buffalo Bills are undefeated two games into the season after winning a pair of road games in the same stadium - taking out the New York Jets and New York Giants in back-to-back weeks. The Bills finally get a chance to play at home when they attempt to take advantage of a team still learning under a new coach in the visiting Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

Buffalo successfully flustered Jets quarterback Sam Darnold in the season opener and were so solid last week against Eli Manning that the Giants decided to make a switch at quarterback. "There are a lot of times where you're successful in pass defense without sacking the quarterback," Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier told reporters. "Part of it is getting him off his spot, making him move if he's a guy who's a pocket passer - which could help with his accuracy or inaccuracy - along with just harassing him enough to where he feels like he has to speed up because he sees pressure coming. That's enough, for some quarterbacks, to create some indecision about where to go with the football." Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton racked up 729 passing yards in the first two games, but it only resulted in 37 points for his team, which is working out some issues in the red zone. "The lack of production has been (due to) the penalties knocking us backward when we were on that fringe, Cincinnati coach Zac Taylor told reporters of the team's red zone issues. "That was really what killed us. We prepare a red zone game plan every week, and we haven't even gotten to use it yet. It's been silly stuff that keeps us moving backwards."

TV: 1 p.m. ET, CBS. LINE: Bills -6. O/U: 43.5.

ABOUT THE BENGALS (0-2): While Dalton is among the league leaders in passing yardage, Cincinnati ranks last in the NFL in rushing at an average of 29.5 yards. Starting running back Joe Mixon totaled 27 yards on 17 carries in the first two games and the team has yet to score a touchdown on the ground. "We feel like we've done some good things in the passing game, but last week we felt like there was more out there," Dalton, referring to a 41-17 home loss to the San Francisco Giants in Week 2, told reporters. "Being balanced is obviously how you want to play this game, so if we can get the run game going and clicking like we know we can, then it will definitely help out this offense."

ABOUT THE BILLS (2-0): Buffalo is not having any trouble in the red zone or with the rushing attack and quarterback Josh Allen is crediting the work of the offensive line. "We're just doing a good job of executing," Allen told reporters. "Everybody knows their assignments. We've been well coached, especially our O-line by (offensive line coach) Bobby (Johnson). Just making sure that our keys are where they need to be, and our running backs are doing a good job of finding the end zone." Allen actually leads the team with two rushing touchdowns to go with 507 passing yards and a pair of TDs through the air.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Bengals G Michael Jordan (knee) is doubtful for Sunday.

2. Bills RB Devin Singletary, who leads the team with 127 rushing yards, is questionable with a hamstring injury.

3. Cincinnati took four of the last five meetings, including wins at Buffalo in 2013 and 2015.

PREDICTION: Bills 24, Bengals 17
