Two heavy-hitting strikers square off for featherweight supremacy when Giga Chikadze faces off against David Onama in one of our featured undercard attractions on this weekend’s UFC Fight Night card. UFC odds favor Onama at -175, and Chikadze is a +140 underdog.

Chikadze hopes to jump-start his idling career against the surging Onama, and my Chikazde vs. Onama predictions expect this clash of kickboxers to be packed full of action until the end.

Here are my best free betting picks for Chikazde vs. Onama from T-Mobile Arena in Kansas City.

Chikadze vs Onama prediction and best bet

Fight analysis
At one point, there were plenty of reasons to be excited about Giga Chikadze’s chances as a top contender. However, a lack of activity and a few critical losses ensured that he would be recognized as a good fighter, just one who fell short of expectations.

While he remains a technically proficient kickboxer, he’s getting a tough assignment in David Onama, who comes in with momentum and a busy, aggressive offense.

Onama is a kickboxer who works best when he can close the distance and let his hands go. He lands 5.60 significant strikes per minute and rarely throws single shots, opting instead for fluid combinations.

Though he lacks the flash of other high-volume strikers, he’s efficient and aggressive. Once inside he can overwhelm opponents, as we saw in his knockout win over Gabriel Santos in his last fight, and he has seven wins by knockout. However, Onama’s forward-charging style comes at a cost, as he absorbs 5.01 significant strikes per minute. That could be an issue here, as Chikadze is highly selective with his shots and only opens up when he’s certain he’ll land cleanly.

Chikadze excels at stalking opponents and managing range. His kicking game, particularly to the body, is a key weapon that discourages offense. The downside is that his low-volume approach often invites opponents to outwork him, something Arnold Allen capitalized on, and Calvin Kattar exploited in a brutal, career-altering loss.

Chikadze currently lands 3.92 significant strikes per minute and absorbs 3.50, highlighting his efficiency and defensive sharpness, though he may be slower to the trigger in this fight with ring rust.

This fight ultimately comes down to whether Chikadze can keep Onama at range. If Onama navigates the kicks and gets inside, his volume could build a scoring lead that Chikadze won’t be able to overcome. However, a few well-placed kicks or counters could shift the tempo dramatically.

Still, I don’t see Chikadze having enough sustained output to suppress Onama’s pressure over three rounds, especially after a significant layoff. Onama is the pick.

Best bet analysis
Chikadze is tough, calculated, and unlikely to crumble early. Onama will need to take some chances to get inside, and while Chikadze could land something big, his counter-heavy style should allow the fight to reach the scorecards.

My best bet is that the fight goes Over 2.5 rounds.
