Font vs Garbrandt betting preview

Font enters this fight as the No. 3-ranked bantamweight contender is coming off a first-round knockout win over Marlon Moraes in December which earned him a Performance of the Night bonus.

The 33-year-old has won three fights in a row and is 8-3 in the UFC with six wins coming within the distance. Font is a very good technical kickboxer with high output and power.

Garbrandt is No. 4 in the bantamweight rankings and is coming off a second-round knockout victory over Raphael Assunção last June. That win allowed Garbrandt to snap a three-fight losing streak which are the only defeats on his resume.

The 29-year-old began his career with a perfect 11-0 record and defeated Dominick Cruz to claim the 135-pound title in 2016. Garbrandt has some of the best boxing in the division and combines that with excellent speed, cardio, and knockout power.

Font vs Garbrandt UFC predictions and betting picks

PREDICTION: Font to win (-128) - Garbrandt is coming off an impressive knockout win but Font is a far more dangerous striker than the 38-year-old Assunção.

Garbrandt simply hasn't recaptured the magic of that championship performance against Cruz which happened 54 months ago and he has been dealing with the lingering effects of a battle with COVID-19.

Garbrandt has simply been too hittable in his recent losses and that's bad news against a striker like Font who combines volume with precision.

Font also has a six-inch reach advantage and is able to fight inside and out which could give him the edge in what should be a stand-up battle.

PREDICTION: Font to win by KO/TKO - Garbrandt is an excellent boxer with explosive power but he often throws defense out the window when he goes on the attack. His chin is certainly questionable after suffering three-straight losses by TKO and even though he was more measured in his approach against Assunção, he might revert to that brawling style once Font starts landing.

Font can certainly crack as we've seen in his previous TKO win against Moraes as well as knockouts over Thomas Almeida and Matt Schnell.

PREDICTION: Total Rounds Under 3.5 (-115) - Regardless of who gets the win we don't see this fight going even close to the full five scheduled rounds.

Seven of Garbrandt's last eight UFC fights finished before the end of the second round. Meanwhile, five of Font's previous eight bouts ended within the first 10 minutes. Take the Under 3.5 rounds
