Best WNBA Player Props for 8-25: Best Bets for Young, Ogunbowale, & Hamby

While Dearica Hamby's scoring as dipped of late, she's been piling up rebounds and should be well-position to log a double-double on Sunday.

With less than a month to go in the WNBA regular season, the playoff race is ramping up — and the first half of today’s double-header will have a bearing on the standings as the Las Vegas Aces take on the Chicago Sky.

The same can’t be said for the late tip, which is a basement battle between the Los Angeles Sparks and Dallas Wings. Regardless, both games offer plenty of interesting player props and I’ve selected my top three WNBA picks below.

WNBA player prop bets for August 25

Today's best WNBA player props bets

Prop bet #1: Jackie Young Under 17.5 points

+100 at bet365

It’s been a challenging year for the Las Vegas Aces in their pursuit of a championship three-peat, but this is still a loaded roster that should be even better than their solid 17-11 record.

Still, there are so many mouths to feed in this offense, with talented scorers lining up behind A’ja Wilson for a share of the shots. Jackie Young falls into that category — and I’m fading her scoring prop given what we’ve seen from the Aces on either side of the Olympic break.

Young has been held to 17 points or fewer in five of her last six outings, and she didn’t reach double-digit field goal attempts in two of those games.

Kelsey Plum has been the more reliable sidekick for Wilson over the past week, and that pushes Young into a more supplementary role. She’s still a bucket-getter but could just be squeezed out a little by the competition for shots.

Though the Chicago Sky enter this matchup after allowing more than 80 points in four straight contests since the season resumed, I see Chicago holding Young below this total.

Prop bet #2: Arike Ogunbowale Over 20.5 points

-115 at bet365

Aside from the race for the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, there isn't much at stake for the Dallas Wings. They've lost eight of their last 10 games, but Arike Ogunbowale is still bringing it on a nightly basis.

With the L.A. defense largely turning in sloppy defensive performances over the past 10 days, I like the Over on Ogunbowale's scoring prop. While she’s only gone past the 20.5-point line in one of her last three games, she’s walking into a favorable matchup on Sunday.

As the Wings’ clear No. 1 option, Ogunbowale is averaging almost 22 ppg in 2024 and she’s made two or more 3-pointers in seven straight contests. She played all 40 minutes against the Liberty on Thursday, finishing with a 7-for-18 shooting line. That type of volume feels sustainable today, with Dallas trying to improve on its 6-22 record.

Satou Sabally’s return from injury has eased some of the scoring burden, and this seems like a fair price for Ogunbowale to serve up a monster game.

Prop bet #3: Dearica Hamby to record a double-double

+105 at bet365

Friday’s loss to the Mystics was another low point in this difficult season for the Los Angeles Sparks, but I still see value in some of their player props — including this pick for Dearica Hamby to dominate the Wings today on the way to a double-double.

As one of the league’s better rebounders, Hamby has posted 10+ boards in four of her last five outings, and she should have an edge on the glass against Dallas, one of the poorer rebounding teams in the league.

A surprising scoring dip is probably the bigger concern with this prop, but Hamby is still averaging 17.7 ppg despite five quiet scoring nights since the season resumed. The harsh truth is that L.A. is short on scoring options and the Wings are allowing a WNBA-worst 90.2 ppg this season. That should add up to impressive numbers for Hamby.

She already has two double-doubles against Dallas this season, including a 22-point, 12-rebound effort in early June, and she’s well-positioned for a similar stat line on Sunday.
