Most of the WNBA talk may surround the Caitlin Clark odds, but Angel Reese is right when she says there are a bounty of other players to enjoy watching. From a gambling perspective, there are three games tonight to comb through to find our best free WNBA picks, including one featuring Reese.

Let’s look through Mystics vs. Sun, Liberty vs. Sky, and Mercury vs. Storm to find three WNBA player props for Tuesday, June 4.

Today's best WNBA player props bets

Prop bet #1: Reese’s rebounds

Angel Reese drew Monday headlines when she said the WNBA discourse is “not just because of one person.” She was right.

“A lot of us have done so much for this game,” the Chicago Sky rookie said. “... There are so many good players in this league that have deserved this moment for a long time. Luckily, it’s coming now.”

The version of that quote that made the broadest rounds was more self-serving, but Reese was giving credit to her WNBA predecessors more than she was congratulating the rookie class. Many of those predecessors are on the New York Liberty, but they lack the greatest quality that Reese has been able to rely upon through seven games of her career.

Only Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones grab more than four rebounds per game for New York. Of players active and logging more than five minutes per game, only those two haul in more than 9% of available rebounds.

Reese thrives on the boards, averaging 8.9 per game and tracking down 17.2% of available rebounds. She may not outrebound the players she praised on Monday, but she will get her fair share.

Given she has cracked this rebounding prop in four of her seven games — with one of the exceptions being her debut with eight — Reese’s fair share should approach or reach double digits.

Angel Reese prop: Over 8.5 rebounds (-108 at FanDuel)

Prop bet #2: Copper’s comedown

One of the most underappreciated talents in the WNBA, the Phoenix Mercury's Kahleah Copper can turn any game on its head. She has cracked 30 points three times this season in just nine games, and she has hit at least three 3-pointers in six games.

But when Copper scores 30 points, it has been thanks to bursts. Making 13 free throws (38 points), making five 3-pointers (37 points), or making six and four (32). Otherwise, she has fallen short of this points prop in her six remaining games.

The Seattle Storm will cut down on those bursts. The Storm have the No. 4 defensive rating in the WNBA in large part because they do not let opposing stars get rolling. They rank No. 5 in both free throws attempted against and 3-pointers attempted against.

Copper should receive more praise, but so should Seattle’s defense, and tonight the latter should dictate the game.

Kahleah Copper prop: Under 21.5 points (+105 at DraftKings)

Prop bet #3: Bonner’s bounce

DeWanna Bonner has long been a prolific scorer. In the nine seasons from 2012 to 2021, she averaged at least 15 points in six of them. But she cleared 19 points in just two of those years. In 2022, she hit a valley of 13.5 points per game.

Enter Alyssa Thomas’ play-making stretch. The Connecticut Sun veteran has ratcheted up her assists in recent years, up to 7.9 in 2023 and 9.0 this season. The greatest beneficiary seems to be Bonner.

She has cleared this prop in four games this season — with two of the exceptions coming by just the hook — three of which were against the Indiana Fever or the Washington Mystics, two of the three worst defenses in the WNBA.

Bonner scored 22 against Washington on May 17, even though she missed all six of her 3-pointer attempts. Any reasonable shooting from Bonner tonight, against this woeful defense, should spur her past this points prop.

DeWanna Bonner prop: Over 19.5 points (-102 at FanDuel)

Douglas Farmer spends his days thinking about college football and his nights thinking about the NBA. His betting habits and coverage follow that same pattern. He covered Notre Dame football for various outlets from 2008 to 2024, most notably spending eight seasons as NBC Sports’ beat writer on the Irish. That was also when his gambling focus took off. Knowing there were veteran beat writers with three decades more experience than he had, Douglas found his niche by best recognizing Notre Dame’s standing in each year’s national landscape, a complex tapestry most easily understood and remembered via betting odds.

In 2021, that interest created a freelance opportunity with Covers, a role that eventually led to Douglas joining the company full-time in 2023. In the fall, Douglas will place five or six dozen bets each week, a disproportionate amount via BetRivers because the operator tends to have lines slightly different than the rest of the market. The same can be said of Circa Sports’ futures markets.

While Douglas is an avid NBA fan and covers the league throughout the year, the vast majority of his bets are on college football, because that is the biggest key to sports betting: Know what you do not know.
