If you thought Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson was a stretch, boy do I have a treat for you.

Undefeated and self-proclaimed G.O.A.T. Floyd "Money" Mayweather takes to the ring on Saturday, August 24 for an exhibition boxing match vs. John Gotti III live on DAZN.

Let's look at the latest Mayweather vs. Gotti odds for this Saturday night clash.

Floyd Mayweather vs John Gotti odds analysis

Floyd Mayweather will make his return to the ring just over a year removed from his first fight with John Gotti III.

The first fight between the pair ended in controversy as referee Kenny Bayless stopped the bout in the sixth round after both fighters ignored his instructions to stop using abusive language.

While the step up in class to a proper fighter in John Gotti III is a step in the right direction for the "retired" Mayweather, the Mayweather vs. Gotti odds have tabbed "Money" Mayweather as a massive -3,000 favorite.

While this is an exhibition fight and will not go on his record, Mayweather can still boast about a perfect 50-0 mark which means anytime he takes to the ring, he will generate attention.

His opponent, John Gotti III, originally an MMA fighter and grandson of a 1980s New York mob boss, will be making his third appearance in the ring with his first two bouts ending with his arms raised.

While the odds give Gotti only a puncher's chance of doing the unthinkable, the tale of the tape leans in the younger and much bigger Gotti's favor.

So why did Mayweather agree to a rematch when there's little (outside of money) to gain?

How to read boxing odds

The most common way to bet on a boxing match is by picking the overall winner of the bout. With Mayweather being the favorite for this fight, the minus sign (-) is in front of his odds at -3,000. That means bettors would need to wager $3,000 to win $100. A Gotti win would pay out more, as he's the underdog at +850. A $100 wager would lead to a $850 profit.

Other prop bets will become available closer to the fight date, such as the method of victory and round betting.

The odds listed above are in American format, but can easily be converted to decimal or fractional format via our odds converter tool.
