Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano Picks, Predictions & Odds: Revenge for "The Real Deal"

Amanda Serrano lost a war of a first match with Katie Taylor by a narrow margin but has looked like the better fighter since then. Danny Howard's boxing betting picks are counting on "The Real Deal" to deliver in the rematch.

Amanda Serrano vs. Katie Taylor goes tonight and is the main attraction of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson undercard. This is a rematch of their epic 2022 clash, which Taylor won in a bloody brawl, but the tides may have turned to Serrano’s favor this time around.

Here are my best Serrano vs. Taylor predictions and free betting picks from the AT&T Center in Arlington.

Taylor vs Serrano prediction and pick

Fight analysis

The first fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano in 2022 was one of the best fights of the decade, and while these two aren’t too far removed from their epic battle, plenty has changed between them.

Serrano bounced back to win four fights in a row and maintain her status as one of the best fighters in the world, and Taylor suffered the first loss of her career to Chantelle Cameron in a bid to win a junior welterweight title, though controversially avenging that loss in a pair of bouts in 2023.

Taylor seems to have dropped off a bit since the Serrano fight, and this fight figures to be more of the same just as she’s starting to show wear and tear. Both women fought at a brisk pace with several rounds being hard to score, but Serrano’s heavy hands made a mark early on and bloodied Taylor, who rallied on the back end to secure a tight decision win. Critical to Taylor’s victory was her jab, which Serrano could neither take away nor solve.

While Serrano still maintains the advantage in power, she hasn’t scored a stoppage since 2021. That means this will likely go the distance again, but this time, Serrano will know her strategy will need to be limiting Taylor’s movement and not being on the receiving end of her jab. Taylor eked it out in what was likely the last true fight of her prime, and from what we’ve seen from both of them lately, Serrano looks the better of the two.

This will be another bull vs. matador style fight where Serrano must come out firing, but not to the point where she’ll leave herself vulnerable for Taylor’s speedy counters. If Taylor struggles to keep Serrano outside like she did against Cameron, those heavy hands will bloody her up again, and Serrano will emphasize a body attack to restrict her movements in the later rounds.

I thought Serrano did enough to win the first time around, and I feel that she’s the better fighter going into the rematch. I’m picking Serrano to pull off the minor upset.

Best best analysis

Neither Serrano nor Taylor have been doling out stoppages lately. As hard as they beat on each other a few years ago, neither one looked ready to wilt, and I expect the same kind of grueling clash that will go the distance. My best bet is that Serrano comes out on top with a points win.
