Definitely not happy with this," playing with hard earned funds" tweaking things on the fly from a transition I'm in, converting Sagarin's ratings methods to Kenpom is not the way its suppose to happen. ie playing with hard earned funds while trying to learn. However, after going through all my plays made this season alone, there is a silver lining to the cloud. The problem is not the conversion from Sagarin's to Kenpom, I believe I have that licked. The problem is me, I'm not disciplined and patient enough. However, looking over some of my winning plays and the game models/ systems that I have created this season through the KP ratings that I only started to use this season is mind blowing and enters me into another realm of mastery of this game. I have the tools at my disposal where I can excel , but the impatience and undisciplined nature that seeps into the soul with this game needs to be corrected.
Sports wagering allows you to do this because the history repeats itself and when you document your progress or lack thereof..that alone becomes another tool for any person that plays this game to get better with their methods and most importantly become more disciplined in the selection process that comes with it. We are only students of the game so when we put ourselves out there in public and have a bad year bad runs etc. We most forge this attitude to suffer fools gladly into our apprenticeship, there are simply to many to avoid and a part of life, like rocks or furniture. The height of wisdom is to take it further and actually exploit there foolishness using them for material to turn their actions to your advantage, in this way, the fools foolishness plays into your hands, helping you achieve the kind of practical results they seem to distain. Smile at their antics and tolerate their presence as you would a silly child, its all part of the human comedy. We got work to do, lets start it out with a bang !
