Saturday March 23 5:30 pm tip (-110) Michigan St +4 10 unit Hammer ML +160 5 unit
Standard recommendation posted all over the internet including on Covers.com is for 2-3% of total BR per bet, for an average bettor, which includes beginners. Skilled and experienced handicappers will of course bet a higher percentage of their total BR because they are less likely to lose than the average guy.
3% would be a minimum for the skilled and experienced handicapper on any given bet. Highly skilled handicappers bet an even higher percentage of their total BR as for them there is an even smaller chance of losing.
Any bet with no assigned units is assumed a one unit bet thereby costing 3% of total BR, for the skilled handicapper.
10 games bet, each for one unit, would mean 30% of total BR is being risked.
Likewise it follows logically that a 10 unit bet on a single game is also costing 30% of total BR.
Therefore the skilled and experienced handicapper is logically limited to an absolute maximum of about 33 units in play at any given moment before he tops out his entire BR, and I would argue that the vast majority of the skilled and experienced handicappers rarely ever even do that much.
The picks posted above brings the total units "allegedly" being bet to 87 units
More on this later
