You’re def not going to win long term tailing people on Covers. And that doesn’t mean the cappers are bad. I usually make my picks then come here and compare them with the info provided. If you don’t you’re going to be second guessing yourself and then you will make rash decisions. It’s even worse if you follow multiple people on here your win rate will drop considerably. Yes you might have a good day here and there but you will eventually lose. Also by tailing you don’t learn the game. You gain no experience and most people learn the hard way. By that point beginners who bet a considerable amount usually bow out and you’ve most likely seen them. The “I’m done with covers” guys. Been here a while and I’ve seen tons of people come and go. That includes the good and the bad. I think the best way to do it is learn with small amounts and slowly raise the amount according to your bankroll. Good luck everyone. No one said it’s easy but it sure is fun. Especially during the winter when you’re stuck inside. It’s Sat!! Lots of games. Let’s get em!
All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy

Some here seem to have an endless bankroll? Makes you wonder if they are really playing with real money? Everyday 15 to 20 wagers across the sporting board.
You learn more from losing than winning. You learn how to keep going.

Always the same amounts; no more than $150 a game , usually 25-50.
Never more than a 3 team parlay , usually 2 teams.
Watch for teams playing patterns....and patterns on spreads.
Dogs win every day...your job is to find them and bet them.
All great cappers, including t hose on Covers, lose some games.
Take responsibility , its your money...have a win first mentality.
I opened a a new online acct on jan 22nd and tripled it...super bowl was huge and dogs ...this week , I hit a 5-15 stretch and still up because of Money Management.
Every day is opportunity

EXCELLENT advise...and totally accurate..with just one additional comment...your plan will not be much fun at all...you won't get any daily high from all your points but you will beat the man, yet still the profit won't be large over one day, week, month..so if you have found entertainment happiness somewhere else, your plan is spot on. But if you're like me, someone who has extra cash to win or lose, knows not to cross under that line but is looking for a high as I deal with family, work and other things I do well, then your plan just ain't going to cut it...
So you say, well then you will lose and I say like the author of this thread, we know there are pros who make it, we just want to find enough to follow, learn enough to find more good spots and we hope one year to play more than 1-2 plays a day and at least not lose much...I never want to be working as hard as the pros..honestly, they could probably make more $ faster if they went into other businesses where they didn't have to crunch out advantages all day
Is this possible?
P.S anewout above is spot on.... no question, the games that make no sense definitely work out, the teams undervalued work out like Iowa vs Rutgers-Iowa lost 5 in a row and faced a team who was lucky to win it's last 4 and matched up very poorly vs them..line was up to 7 pre game and it never mattered
But the energy it takes to find these myself? No fcking way, I could open an on line business faster an make way more but it's WORK..
We're looking for help and FUN!!!!!!

Buy DKNG instead... Gamble with your Fun Money Manage your plays to a few select value games Grab a few Unders in Season Win Team Totals in NFL/NCAAF 52.5% is achievable with a “gun to the head play of the day”. More than 2-3 plays a day, you’re asking for trouble. It’s A-OK to “Pass” and just watch the game Due Diligence counts and will make a difference in the long run. There is definitely no Easy way to go about this business. Check injuries, local papers, kenpom...take your wagers serious Keep your karma clean Always look at your plays through a contrarian point of view, naturally think “why can’t this Dog cover” before thinking “why wouldn’t this Favorite cover.” Reverse Line Movement is your friend Try to have more than a few Books, especially a local in order to shop your lines Never lay more than -150 Make your Unit bet standard and around 1-2% of your Bankroll. (90% or more of your plays) with an occasional 1.3x, 1.5x or rarely 2x. if you’re truly a strong capper or expert in a sport, focus on one NCAA conference, or a handful of NBA/NFL teams. Maybe just pay attention to one squad. Watch for those situational games and hit them. Just some humble Advice from an Old Head...Take it for what it’s worth. Have a great Saturday! Wolfeman

if you couldn't win long term do you really think these vet accounts over a decade old would still be doing this here?
More than half of those "veteran" accounts are just trolls or post a 1 emoji, comment (gl, BOL, etc) response. Just because they're a veteran status or higher does NOT make them knowledgable or a winning bettor. Myself included. I've brought up before of the possibility that covers should get rid of the poster level status because it confuses new bettors into thinking that the "veteran or higher lvl" is experienced and a winning bettor when in reality they're not. We all see so many bad betting habits on here. Here area few that are a "no-no" in my book:
-betting a side AND total for the same game..
(Team A -4 and then betting the Under 145 seperately)
-betting a full game and then including the first half or 2nd half bet.
(Team A -4 full game, then team A is up 20 at the half and them taking team A again for the 2nd half at -2..)
-parlaying, ANY kind of parlay
-betting a game for EVERY "time slot"
(Betting a 1 o clock game, 2 o clock game, 3 o clock game, etc..)
And so on..
"Schrödinger's bet." A bet that loses when you bet it but wins when you DON'T bet it...

agree with the parlays..I have completely stayed away from that.but betting Team A way up at half, sorry the Super Bowl proved that is far from true..TB +7-8 2H was about as obvious a strong play as you'll ever see
I do see a live opp...take the covering team late 2H in CBB live close to even as the losing team even a heavy pre-flop fav gives up too many free throws to pull it out..ex: Cleve St and Hawaii last night
