It is tough to distinguish "ovverrated", but someody earlier stated Raymar Morgan because he doesn't show up for big games. I "HATE" players that don't show up when it counts. Wayne Ellington was no where to be found in our biggest game of the year. Is he overrated though? He has been lights out ever since his pathetic performace against Duke. Tough to define overrated but I will take my best shot...

True, but he was overrated last year, his best year was 2 years ago. I was at the pitt game, 12 ast 0 turnovers, controlled the game from the tip. 20 pts 6 ast 5 rebs in madison. As much as i hate them, marquette is getting it together. They must think they can go far as they brought Mbakwe back this late in the year.  All signs were pointing to a medical redshirt.

I gotta agree with ZUM......Colt Brennan.  Niners should sign him since the they have an act of getting weak QB's......lol!!

Darren Collison is absolutely not overrated, if anything he's one of the best true point guards in all of college basketball and I believe he's actually underrated.  Just because he doesn't hoist up 20 shots a game and average 20 + points doesn't mean he's overrated.  This guy knows that his role on his UCLA team is to be the floor general by controlling the tempo of the game and setting up his teammates for better shots.  And he can also burn you if a defender takes him to lightly because he can hit an open shot if it is given to him.  UCLA can win a national title with this kid at point guard, there's absolutely no way he's overrated.  And as far as people thinking Kevin Love is overrated? I don't know what drugs you are on but please don't even get me started on this topic, the guy is an absolute stud.

I don't know why anybody thinks, in a college basketball discussion that Psycho- T is over rated, that makes no sense to me, but I digress, Brian Roberts from Dayton is the most over rated player in the country.  There are some decent teams in the A-10 this year, but mostly he plays sub par competition that allows him to put up those numbers.  I've watched some of their games, and I have yet to be impressed with anything I've seen from him.

Someone mentioned that Beasley forces shots, while TH does not. Wrong, both are shooting 55% from the field, but the difference is that Beasley shoots from the outside also (42% from 3 compared to 0% for TH). Hansbrough gets bailed out from the refs all the time. If he plays so aggressive on both offense and defense how can you explain that he has already gone to the line almost 300 times, while his high foul games are 4 fouls, which only occurred twice this year.  For as aggressive as he is, he is never in foul trouble (and its not because he doesn't foul). Beasley leads the nation in rebounding, is 3rd in scoring, average more steals and blocks, and does all that in less minutes. Yes, he is surrounded by less talent and a less efficiently run offense, this does not help him. If you have watched K State play, you would know that due to their youth (both players and coach), they often have trouble or forget to get Beasley involved. Aside from leadership and hustle, there is not one facet of the game TH is better at, and I do believe they are the 2 best college players in the country. By the way Beasley scored 40 and had 17 rebounds last game, but the most impressive stat is that he did it in 27 minutes.

Dude seriously?? Roberts might have one of the best shots in the country.  He has one of the best mid- range jumpers.  The games you saw were probably without Little and Wright. Teams were double and triple teaming him.  No one could get through that.  Look at his games against Louisville and Pitt (Teams that were "too good" to double team him)  Remember what BR did against them?  Remember that 30 point azz whippin, yea that was all BR.  Through all the double teaming, he is still shooting 50%+ and still scoring 20+ per game.  Now overrated, lets talk Burrell and maybe Lavender.

Hey lay off OJ Mayo.  The kid is nice and him at USC is just a showcase.  nothing more nothing less. I think OJ Mayo is way better than Sesbastian  poo-poo Telfair.

OJ Mayo is the most overhyped player -- does that equal most overrated? Probably not. I'll go with Hibbert.

Boy I feel like a dope, it's hard sometimes to hear sarcasm in print, Anyway I can name seven point guards I would rather have not in any order- Lawson(unc) , Rose(Memphis), Collison (ucla), Chalmers (KU), Gordon (IU),  Butler(Ohio St) I even like Vazquez better as a player even though I hate the terps and General Greivis. Anyway I thought it would bring up good debate. Augustin had a great game vs. A&M but we'll see how the rest of the season goes....

I'm a Pac-10 guy so here is my overrated Pac-10 team:
 
Tajuan Porter, Oregon - Only 37 percent from the field this year.
OJ Mayo, USC - More turnovers than assists.
Anthony Goods, Stanford - Only 37 percent from the field this year.
Quincy Pondexter, Washington - This guy was a top recruit out of high school, but hasn't done much at all for a crappy team.
Devon Hardin, Cal - He's supposed to be a first-round NBA pick but the guy is only averaging 10 points per game.

Neitzel, Jamar Butler, Hibbert, Caracter are ridicilously overrated. Most underrated is Williams and Sosa from Louisville, Roberts from Dayton, and Beasley/Bill Walker from K-State

The only reason this guy is considered to be an all american is because of the 4 letters on the front of his jersey. He's an average player at best.
 
Seen him at least a half a dozn times on TV this yr and once live and his presence is rarely even noticed. 
 
He has no legitimate jumpshot.  He can't score consistenly on the dribble and just about all his points are in transition.  He's an ok player but no all american.

How the hell is Joey Dorsey overrated? His role on the team is not to score tons of points, he is the premier inside defender in the country. Actually, he even shoots at a tremendous percentage from the field, so he might not be scoring 15 ppg, he makes the most out of his opportunities. Joey Dorsey = A younger Ben Wallace.

Chalmers, Butler and Vazquez over Augustin and Bayless? Now you're getting ridiculous..Both are top 5 point guards, possibly top 3 with Rose.

I agree Walker is underrated, but Beasley underrated? Not a chance. I think he's an amazing player, but he's a tad overrated. He's no doubt a top 3 player in NCAA, but some people talk about him as if he was better than Kobe Bryant blindfolded.
