Unreal…what a crap way to lose a game…Zona rolling in OT now
They always talk fouling up 3 with seconds left what they never consider is once Iowa state missed the 1st free throw with 2.2 seconds left you miss the second intentionally .
If you just clang the ball off the front on the rim with 2.2 seconds left the clock starts and its tough for an offensive player even if they get the ball their not in rhythm to launch and Iowa State wins but no one does this.

@Silverstones
Very true but I guess they are afraid of a foul being called and they shoot two the other way? I think what you stated is a no brainer,to miss that 2nd one.I guess either way any chance of tying it up is very low

Yup. I would love for someone to explain how fans watching from home are well aware of this but the dumbfuck head coach does not utilize it. Probably because he is scared to death if he does it and someone gets lucky on a wild heave he will look even worse. Moron doesnt understand that if they brick on purpose right there that they have zero chance. And look what happened.

@Robards
They don't call fouls here the whistles are put away with 2.2 seconds left on this play . like I said if you clang it hard hitting the net and bottom part of the rim, the ball comes off in downward trajectory and its at everyone's feet the clock runs out the game over , they don't think to do this I didn't bet the game I'd be really pissed if I did .

No I agree, that is why I posed it as a question about a foul call.I dont know the coaches logic for not missing the free throw cause statistically that seems to offer the most favorable outcome for ISU..
I was glad though,I had ASU.lol

I had Arizona second half, but went to bed early. So from what I gather Arizona had no timeouts left? If so, yes the best thing to do was for Iowa State to clank that free throw. Even so, 99 times out of a 100 you're going to win that game with that desperation three ( meaning the guy will miss). If I was Iowa State I would have gladly gave up that shot. The correct thing for Arizona to due was heave the ball down court on inbounds and hope for a catch and shoot.
