Richmond -3.5: I wanna lock this one in early because I believe it will go up throughout the day....this is one of the heaviest public plays of today's slate so far but I see Richmond as 10-15 points better than W & M....Richmond is a much deeper team as they play 5-6 guys off the bench as opposed to W & M who plays 3-4 most times....W & M pulled off a nice win recently at Rutgers (who is in a rebuilding year BTW) but has just not looked all that impressive while Richmond has hung with UNC (talk about down year!) & Minnesota and beat Air Force on the road & Belmont at home
SMU -9 (bought the hook): I have been skeptical of SMU early on this year as I believe this program is on the right track but I needed to see more from them early on....with their neutral court victory over Texas A&M and hanging with Virginia for all 40 minutes in that same tourney, this team is making that transition to a March Madness contender much faster than I thought they would....the Mustangs are led by G Nic Moore but have a lot of nice players around him both in the backcourt & up front....UIC conversely has very little talent past (and including) their starting lineup and holds no real homecourt advantage as they have been crushed there this year at the hands of Northwestern by 35 (just OK), Louisiana Tech by 25 (really good team - no shame there), and Eastern Illinois by 20 (WHAT???)
I'm tailing my friend cjm2008 on Harvard - love that pick tonite and I'm also looking at 1 or 2 more....GL everyone!

Charlotte -8: Davidson playing without leading scorer De'Mon Brooks will have troubles scoring tonite at Charlotte who holds a tremendous DEF PPG allowed & rebounding advantage here....Charlotte has won games at Michigan & at Kansas St. this season and has a really balanced attack led by Shawn Lester....the 49'ers will probably playing without PG Pierra Henry but should still be too deep & talented here for Davidson as Charlotte has 6 players (5 without Henry) averaging double digits PPG
I like a couple other games too (like Harvard) but the three games above will be it for my formal posts....let's go get 'em tonite guys!

Missouri -6.5: Going with the home favorite here as I believe Missouri's talented backcourt is better than West Virginia's up & coming young backcourt and the Tiger frontcourt has a slight edge as well....West Virginia lost their only road game this season to an underwhelming Virginia Tech squad....Missouri really hasn't played any top 100-type teams yet but not so sure West Virginia will be a top 100 team by the end of the season either....this is Huggins's least talented team since he came to Morgantown with no senior leadership and a very thin frontcourt and I feel they won't be able to come within double digits of the Tigers tonite
I might have another one later....GL tonite gentlemen!

Ole Miss +2: This is the type of game I would usually side with the home team & they may just burn me here but this K-State team has no go-to scorers and is really missing that Rodney MacGruder/Jacob Pullen type player that can step up....meanwhile Ole Miss lost a lot from last years NCAA-bound team as well but the returning pieces have fit nicely together with floor leader Marshall Henderson....K-State's home floor advantage from years past is somewhat neutralized by the lack of depth & star talent....they dropped a game to Northern Colorado on their home court a few weeks ago & I feel Ole Miss gets it done there tonite as well
That's it from me....GL tonite everyone!

Arizona St. -3.5: I know I coulda caught this one earlier at about -2 but I don't think it will matter....Jahii Carson is playing tonite and even with him battling injuries the Sun Devils have enough other talent with Marshall & Bachynski to get it done....DePaul has a couple scorers but that's about it....they usually don't play a shred of defense and they turn the ball over an awful lot as well....bottom line Sun Devils take this one by 10-15
Small slate tonite so that's probably it....I'm also playing Baylor tonite super small just cuz I can't trust Kentucky quite yet....GL everyone!

Like Baylor at +5. ASU scares me but I should bet it. GL
I hadn't read the forum before I posted it and it seems like lots of people are on DePaul all of the sudden....that scares me a little too but I'm sticking with it....just a medium play and hoping Zona St.'s defense and rebounding will be too much....living here in the Chicagoland area we know this DePaul team has let us down in big games before so we'll see

Indiana -23: Laying lots of chalk here but I feel confident the Hoosiers will want to beat up the Ospreys here at home today....coming off a bad loss at Syracuse I feel Indy gets it going early & often and the talent disparity & depth will give 'em the win by 30+....No. Florida has had some horrendous road contests vs. big teams in the last week & a half and I expect that to continue today....Indy has statistical advantages in scoring, def PPG, FT %, & big advantage in rebounding too
Iowa-10: Even in their first true road game of the season at an in-state rival I still give a 15-20 point advantage to the Hawkeyes here....Drake (my alma mater) has started 6-1 and could make some noise in the MVC this season but tonite I think we find out who they really are....they gave St. Marys a really good game on the road but all of their wins have come vs. teams who will not be top 150 teams by season's end....Iowa scores in bunches, actually defends pretty well, & has played tougher competition so far this season....Drake just lacks the firepower & depth to keep up with Iowa's offense
South Alabama -4.5: I really like what the Jaguars have done early on this season....they have played a pretty good schedule against a couple of nice mid-major & major schools and hung with some pretty big names like Texas & So. Mississippi, & Middle Tenn St....Rice on the other hand has really only played one top 100 team so far (Princeton) and has been beaten or had close games with some VERY weak squads....I look for USA and their big man Rubit to get it done today by 10-15 points
Thanks guys for all the support....might have another one later in the day....GL everyone!

Virginia Tech +6.5: I'll take the points in this matchup today for a few reasons....VaTech comes in on the heels of a 3 game win streak and while none of those opponents were world-beaters neither are the Hurricanes they face off against today....secondly while it is VaTech's first true road game they are not exactly going into an unfriendly arena for visitors as Miami has already lost 2 games there this season (to UCF & St. Francis NY????) and it took OT to come up with a win vs. Georgia Southern....Miami has just not yet found the replacements for all of those key pieces they lost last year....gimme the points with the Hokies today as they have too big of an edge in scoring, rebounding, & 3-pt %
Let's bring this one home guys....GL today!
