Per John Hart on Twitter, Motum's ankle is serious enough that his return is doubtful. I'm making a play based on that news. Starks is apparently under the weather, but he did come back in the game after being in the locker room. Not sure if WSU can weather the OSU charge with Motum not on the floor...

Never mind, Starks apparently not playing. Beavs out of sync without him. I can now cease watching.

No writeup. Game has been dissected from every possible angle. Motum absence is a concern as the offense largely runs through him, but Bone's sets as good as any in the country and he's very good at finding ways to compensate for missing parts. No trust in Pitt hitting jump shots against the Wazzu zone.

Motum being absent is Wash St's equivalent of Kendall Marshall being out....not only is he important to their zone but their offense runs through him and even with him in lineup, Wash St offense is mediocre.  Pitt has done nothing but hit jump shots in their 3 CBI wins (27-60 from triple line)..Offense now running thru Lamar Patterson instead of Ashton Gibbs.....Pitt will control glass and Wash St doesnt have advantage of not being able to go with the flow like they did vs Ore St where their players didnt have time to think about Motum's absence.  Now they have been thinking about it for 5 days and their lineup will have a hole in it.

Nice call on the Cougs. 

Gotta love the matchups tomorrow. UMass goes with how well Chaz is playing and he is going to eat up Chason and Bright. Wroten will lock down Hollins and the Husky length will contain Rodney.

Good one JFen!  Mahalo means thank you in Hawaiian in case you did not know.  You have followers from the islands like me and Hawaiian Bear.  Pineapplexpress I thought was from here, is not.  Used to have Maui Warrior, BigDaddyHPD I think transplanted Hawaiian now on the big island, USA continent, lol!

UMASS +3 vs. Stanford (1 unit) -119

If anyone has specific questions about UMASS, feel free to ask them. I'm not going to do a full-blown writeup as this game and Minny/Washington have been explored rather extensively.Outside of my Hawks, I don't think I've seen any team play more often this year than the Minutemen. All kidding aside, I could probably give an opposing coach a pretty detailed scouting report on each player. My read on Stanford has been awful, so hopefully I'm not underestimating them again. Slight advantage to the Cardinal having already played twice at the Garden, but this is going to be a very pro-UMass crowd tonight. Chaz is from Brooklyn and has close to 100 people alone. I'd like this more if Stanford had less prep time, but this is truly a unique style. The Cardinal will probably get 12+ offensive rebounds, but UMass has been outrebounded fairly often (including Drexel) and managed to survive. I'll also be looking at the possibility of a live bet if UMass starts out slow, as there is no team in the country that is streakier than the Minutemen.

Lean over, but will wait for a live betting opportunity given that there's a decent chance the opening minutes of the game are disjointed and sloppy.

vs. Syracuse:
24/56 (42.9%), 7/18 from 3Pt

Game played to 71 possessions. Hard to really compare this one to anything given the Syracuse 2-3 zone versus the pressure man-to-man they'll see tonight from UMass.

vs. OK State
29/61 (47.2%), 9/19 from 3Pt

Game played to 72 possessions. OK State is primarily a man-to-man team, albeit with far less ball pressure than UMass. We can certainly glean from both of these games that Stanford shot the ball well at the Garden, but it's really not too useful in predicting how they might fare three months later and going against a very unfamiliar style.
