I second that!!!! Glad to see a club-member...welcome to the minority
You see, Joe doesn't ever know he's Joe, and tends to search high & low for that golden nugget of (subjective) info just to substantiate HIS pick.

Teams ranked in the Top 10 in offense that FSU has played this year.........ZERO
Clemson 14th
next best offense they faced..........................................
Miami 43rd
92% of FSU games, they offenses they faced were in the bottom 70% of college football ranks
That sure is impressive stopping those great teams
Its always a good thing playing the best offense you will see all year after not playing for a month right??? Auburn will have 14 points before FSU can blink
Looks like a lot of hearts will be broken on this site when Auburn wins straight up

From Dokie - “Let a man with facts ….” HAHAHAHA!
A man with facts, eh? …. Who has watched every single game, I see? So when you refer to your supposed ‘fact’ where Auburn almost loses to Arkansas State - that would be the game where Auburn won the game38-7 & were leading at halftime by score of 21-3 - but in Dokie’s world of facts that constitutes a game where they ‘almost lost to Arkansas State.’
I think we can now take your ‘facts’ with a boulder of salt. Especially when you make other statements like “FSU’s secondary is 12x that of Alabama’s” …. You wouldn’t know a fact if it bit you on the behind.
As for your assertion Bama played their safeties 20 yards away from the LOS on ‘every single Auburn snap’ – that is easily the most asinine observation I have seen made on this board in 2013. I have the game taped, have watched it 3Xs & can assure you and anyone else that Kirby played this game similarly to all the other times he’s played Gus’ offense at Auburn, with a constant mixture of cover 2, man, bring safeties up in the box – rushing one or both safeties, rushing LBs up the middle & off the corner, lining them up on the LOS to create a six man line.
Kirby Smart is one of the best in the business and the entire game was a chess match of Gus calling plays from the sidelines and Kirby reacting to the sets Auburn was in with a mixture of coverages – including many times with 7-8 men in the box. To suggest, as you did, that Alabama would sit ‘every single snap’ in a cover 2 with safeties 20 yards off the LOS & let Auburn gash them for 300 yards rushing against a 6 man box because Bama couldn’t cover Auburn’s vaunted passing attack in man coverage is the single most stupid thing I have seen posted on this board all year by anyone. Anyone watching tape of this game can corroborate this – you have no idea what you are talking about.
As to why Bama didn’t stop Auburn, in actuality, as noted by Gary Danielson in the broadcast booth, many times both CJ Mosely as well as the Bama safeties, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Landon Collins were exploited by Nick Marshall who, on the read option would key off their reaction at the snap – either crashing down to take the back (in which case Marshall would pull out to the perimeter and gash the D with his speed), or take the man in motion or react to the perimeter, in which case Marshall would tuck the ball and run up the middle (for TDs) or, as in the case of the last TD, Nick take the perimeter and when both the corner and safety committed to stopping him, flip the ball to a wide open Sammie Coates left open by the corner on the commit. Auburn has many different options out of the same sets that it runs - it can even fake the jet sweep play w/ Nick keeping the ball as the D flows to the motion back - and when you have a legit sub 4.4 guy who can actually read what the defense is doing and make the proper read it is very difficult to defend. This is something anyone with an ounce of football sense can see, and Marshall is world’s apart better at it now than earlier in the season – no player or team has improved as much through the year as Nick Marshall and Auburn. And if you think FSU’s safeties are appreciably faster or better players than Clinton-Dix, Collins, or Jarrick Williams, you would be mistaken – they’re good, but they’re not better - and they will not be the panacea to FSU's stopping Auburn on Jan. 6.

Speaking of which, as for your theory that FSU is simply going to bring both safeties up to create an 8 man box and play man all night long and that will be their key to stopping Auburn – I so hope Jimbo is as stupid as you in thinking that will work. In the last three games Auburn has played, against the no. 25, no. 1, and no. 5 ranked teams in the nation, Nick Marshall passing the ball has been 35/53, a 67% completion rate with 4 TDs and 0 interceptions. In the same games he rushed for appx. 100 yds per game and another 4 rushing TDs. This was in late November/early December against highly ranked teams. He has thrown exactly ONE interception in the last 9 ballgames – i.e., his last INT was in September. And just so you know, Dokie, these are FACTS, as opposed to the garbage you spewed in your above post - and ones which actually bear relevant impact to the outcome of the game.
Additionally, should FSU adopt the strategy you suggest, Nick has Sammie Coates to throw the ball to, a legit sub 4.4 guy with range who is the no. 1 receiver in the nation in yards per catch who *will* beat whoever tries to cover him man more times than not, as well as Ricardo Louis, Quan Bray, C.J. Ozumah, Corey Grant, all of whom have repeatedly shown ability to burn man coverage & take it to the house all year long. I sincerely hope FSU thinks they can sit back in man all night long with safeties up, as you do, this will lead to 4 AU TDs in the first half alone and the game will not be close.
Finally, as to the battle tested thesis, it’s pretty obvious you’ve never played the game at anything resembling a competitive level, or you would know what I’m talking about. Auburn has played 6 ranked teams, 4 of them in the top 10 at the time they played. They have beaten 5 quality teams that led at some point in the 4th quarter and have extreme confidence they can win, even under adverse circumstances. FSU has played NOBODY but Clemson; Duke is probably - possibly - a legit top 25 team (even though it is currently a DD dog to one) but nowhere near a legit top 10 team; Miami isn’t even in the discussion as we saw against Louisville last night; and Florida at 4-8 is no better than awful. Every single other team FSU has trounced is either average, below average, or bad. FSU has had an overwhelming talent and speed advantage in every game this year due to mostly suck opposition & has no idea how to react to a team that can punch back and match them in speed, strength, conditioning, and execution - let alone one leading them with supreme confidence late in the 4th quarter.
