I don't have anything on this game I saw the -13.5 line and thought man that looks pretty sharp yet also kinda begging for Bama money .. woulda been nice to have fun w Cincy +17 or so or maybe Bama -10 .. thinking if you like Cincy they better hang tough in H1 or doubt they'll be hanging at all toward the end .. think we saw a more conservative games w UGA last year and bigger games this year ND, Indy and Houston, even some other ACC games didn't get off to the hottest starts .. Cincy was able to hit the afterburners BIG TIME later in the games in comebacks vs Indy and ND and romped all of Q3 vs Houston but some of that was easy scores off turnovers .. either way we know they can be explosive but might not always see it till late in the game .. ... the kicker situation for them is troubling, they need a FG better hold your breath .. we also know Bama w/out Metchie but between Slade and JoJo there's plenty of experienced next guys up and wouldn't doubt there's inexperienced next man's up, we saw freshman Hall looking like a real 'whose next' in the spring game

.. Bama's D is really good at not giving up the big explosive plays this year but teams have found ways to put longer TD drives together on them so if I'm calling plays for Cincy I'd come out playing to that weakness and keep things short and successful, control the ball/clock and not blow up drives trying to land a big punch .. that's how I'd open it up and think that will drive the clock down and after first few drives who knows, Cincy not playing for a loss here and will likely need a few big plays / turnovers to pull this off especially if bama really is a legit 2 TD better team .. maybe later on we see them take more shots and either they land or bama gets easy scoring positions like we saw vs Tenn ..

@Bridge1 Really appreciate the insight-- some excellent stuff in there. I'm waiting to fire on the under... it's my opinion that this line is about a TD too high based off what we saw vs. UGA in the SEC champ. While Cincy might not be able to match personnel man-for-man with UGA overall, their secondary is 100% better than UGA's. Now Bama is down Metchie... Gardner should be able to limit Williams... so your big plays are coming from either Slade Bolden (not happening)... Ja'Corey Brooks (who is excellent but is also a FR matched up against a Senior Coby Bryant)... or possibly the Tight Ends. Bama's TE's are GREAT.. but they aren't going to hit the explosive plays over the top that Williams/Metchie can. I trust Fickell to Game Plan a scheme that would not let their TE's beat this defense. A total of 57 just seems too high if Bama will not be able to hit the explosive play... and is facing a Cincy defense that is experienced, well-coached and talented.

Good luck brother! .. yeah can't argue w it .. Don't like to think too hard about statement games either but if I'm saban here I don't need to fool around tacking on extra points, could get really risky going down field on these guys and i'd be looking to work the clock big time if I was in position to win late .. doesn't matter if everyone's like ohhh snap cincy hung tight w bama ohhh snap lol .. meaningless .. I agree with you and gunna look around for that H1 Under 30 I'm seeing 29's / 29.5's right now ..

BM Has this -105 now .. not the biggest BP bet. Might play more if it nudges to 31 but doubt it will and even if so, wouldn't pay more than -110 odds since totals can be so erratic .. SIDE NOTE .. keep all that value and best line stuff in mind when Twitter guy is giving you his (or her lol) 'LOCK OF THE BOWL SEASON' .. if I was gunna say something like that it woulda been w Wisco and sure looked like they were gunna deliver early on .. but low and behold Wisco's offense turns into Wyoming's in H2 and THE BRIDGE ARMY narrowly covers by a hook and get paid while others screaming at the TV during those late kneel downs  .. Mich State was another Twitter guy's LOCK OF THE DECADE w Pickett and then backup Patti injured put forth just an EPIC Q4 comeback featuring multiple 4th down conversions and win was not secure with them up 3 w Pitt in FG range .. pick BLEW UP our EPIC MIDDLE SHOT .. buuuut ... no pick = maybe no win .. 

Back to this game: I sum up alot of this play up in post #127 but the main points are expecting any Cincy scores to be the result of very slow drives w Bama D VERY GOOD at limiting the explosive plays .. we don't need to delve into these defenses too much but will say neither one is ELITE in the sense of like some of those Clem or Bama D's from yester-years but they are very very good.. Bama's epic rush has been slowed down considerably this year and stopped multiple times landing only around 4 y/carry (unadjusted). Bama has had a couple teams in last decade below the 5/carry mark but you gotta go back to pre Saban years to find a Bama team rushing at the rate they are this year and that's with a fairly mobile QB that has positive rush yards and much better QB run play designs like they had w MAC last year which 'The Old Bama' never usually had .. I expect Saban to not get too tricky here .. much rather rely on strength of the team landing a 10 point win than risk a real dog fight (or worse) trying to stomp these guys .. On the flip side Fickell is also rather Fickell about how he runs their offense which is fairly slow and steady .. def expect Cincy to take a a few home run shots but easy to kill a drive if they swing and miss ..

Also like that while yeah Bama does use Jamison Williams for kick returns and is a TD threat, 2 TD's vs S.Miss, teams learned to stop kicking to him and took that threat away .. expect that here .. the better news is they have no true TD punt return threat like in the past w Davonta, Waddell or Eddie Jackson .. they could house it but also flip a field entirely and could be quite a few punts in this one .. Cincy kicker is really hit and miss too and that might come in handy ..

End of the day just think this is at least a slugfest early on, may last all game idk just think early on we get a decent feeling out period and whatever points Cincy contributes they will sacrifice a bit of clock doing it .. Those H1 Bama covers are also very popular and keeping this H1 total a little inflated for us, think it should be 28ish give or take.
