boom never once have i said he wasn't a great offensive mind. he's a horrible human being a foul mouthed buffoon who acts like an assclown if thats what you want in a coach god bless you . You can have Leach i'll take Tuberville and i'll beat you every time. Tuberville has come closer to a tirle than Leach could eve dream of. If i was a Washington State fan and they hired Leach i'd stop supporting the team. FYI i'm not a fan of any college team
A horrible humanbeing?
How do you know? You ever meet him?
I personnaly thought you were a football mind, Now I know never to take anything you post serious again.
Tubberville an upgrade, Holy fucking shit, what are you on man.
and if you really want to delve in horrible humanbeings
I dont recall Mike Leech being involved in a ponzi scam that took hard working people for there life savings, YOUR UPGRADE DID.

Leach had something like 10 straight winning seasons at T Tech. That is very impressive. His system may not be capable of winning vs the OK's and Texas's of the world, but nobody who coaches at T Tech is going to beat those teams consistently.
He is in a similar situation at Wash ST. He probably won't beat Oregon and win the P12, but if he can win 8 games a year and beat Washington every other year, Wash St will love him. Regardless, he is a better coach than what they've had since Price left town.
And the Holiday Bowl is a very respectable Bowl.
Wrong. Leach beat UT/OU several times.

alright leach comes out that time and made comments about players and their fat little girlfriends thats what i mean by foul mouthed. Trust me i don't think all coaches don't swear are kind hearted and listen to steely dan.
mafioso i've never had a problem with you or boom but i'll debate till the cows come home about leach. I'm entitled to my opinion like everyone else. I'd rather have Tuberville as my coach. From now on i'll say whatever the forum says and i'll go with it i'll leave my opinions at home

With all due respect, You are debating with your heart and not your brain on this one.
Your hatred for leech is taking you on a path that makes you look you belong on a fan forum not a gambling one.
Personal feelings have nothing to do with reality.

But if come with statements like W.V just scored again, know that I will chop you up into pieces. I will destroy you with facts, its what I do. I got a serious college football sickness....
But never ever ever argue with me about coaching.

lol man we got a lot of Tyler's in the SEC. I tell ya, Russell is so under-used and under-rated it's a shame, but I hope this is his year to shine. You could tell at one point last season the light was really coming on for him, keeping his eyes down field, standing tall in the pocket, scooting_sliding, and moving the chains..and of course the coach takes him out in the redzone when he has marched down the field_I'll never understand the logic of mullen mania
Really looking forward to seeing Russell play this year along with Bray and others_gonna be exciting

I don't necessarily have a problem with it... Russell is a pass dominant QB... while Relf was more of a dual threat QB, but more of a runner... It's a lot easier for QB like Relf to work in the RZ... D's have to worry about his arm and his legs... Running a spread offense in the RZ is tougher when you're pass happy... It's easier on D's because they don't have as much ground to cover and everything is packed in tight... Ex. Look at the S.Car/MSU game last year... game was tied at 7... early in the 4th I believe... MSU has the ball 1st and Goal at the S.Car 5... MSU settles for a FG

The Point of the spread attack is just that. Spread. With Relf there was no true spread attack. Teams were sneaking that 8th guy into the box to help with the run. If Tyler can show he can sling it...... then you will see Mullen's offense really take off. I think Mullen will really try his best to throw early in the season to get other teams respect.

Packer your knowledge is very insightfull, I enjoy reading what you have to say, But sometimes we let our personal feelings get in the way of facts, thats all I was trying to say.
Sorry if I came on like an overbearing ass, sometimes I can be like that.

Actually I have a bone to pick with you regarding coaching, I keep saying Kirk Ferentzs is an awfull conservative asswipe of a coach and you keep telling me he is a good coach, He has handcuffed his offense for years boom, I consider Iowa a graveyard for Offensive coordinators.

I agree Boom... But it wasn't just the QB's last year... Both QB's were hurt at one point in the season... Russell had a knee issue... and Relf had rib issues (I think he got hurt on the last play against Auburn) The O-Line struggled big time... and the WR's didn't step up... too many dropped passes... But from what I hear, the WR's really stepped it up this offseason... they will be the key for MSU this year

G.T - Here we go guys. I know this board hates this Jekyll and Hyde team. Lord knows they laid a bunch of moose games and why we continue to bet on them, who knows. I know this, I think Paul Johnson is a tremendous coach and he can run that offense like only one other coach i've ever seen ( Tom Osborne ). Before you knuckleheads start with the whole Osborne ran the Bone..... I know you dumbass, the Option is many things with all the same principles. Anyways moving on. This years team again is loaded on offense. They bring back a experienced OL,QB and A & B backs. Tevin Washington to me just doesn't have the great instincts a option QB should have. He reminds of the typical 20 to 20 QB. What that means is he can lead his team from the 20 to the other 20. He just doesn't have leadership to take his team in the endzone at times. He is not a good passer, he cant throw the deep ball and the biggest thing about throwing the ball this season is he has no experienced WR catching it. I know it sounds like im down on this team but im really not. These guys defensively should be pretty decent. They are in year 3 of Al Grohs 3-4 scheme and have developed some depth at all three levels of the defense. Really the biggest thing G.T has going for them is the cream puff schedule they have. @ V.T opening weekend ( which is great time to catch V.T ) @ Clemson and @ Georgia. Thats pretty much the beef of the schedule. Their other key games are at home and they should be favored in them. If things go right I could see these guys really get going and possibly win the coastal and win 10 games. But if this offense starts to stall like it did half way thru last season, they could fall fast yet again.
Barry Switzer might take exception to this statement....he owned Osborne, often in Lincoln when the Cornhuskers were the higher rated team......in fact, Switzer ran the option long before Osborne did. (Remember Nebraska QB's Vince Ferragamo and David Humm?.....hardly option QB's). Great thread!!

of course tech fans are sad just like Leach they're foul mouth ogres and can't win the big 1You got Tommy Tuberville you upgraded
Tommy Tuberville? Upgrade? He did well at Auburn because of his coordinators, Gene Chizik and Al Borges. When those 2 guys moved on, Auburn football went downhill and led to Tuberville resigning.
Leach got fired because he wouldn't apologize to Craig James box of a son for something he didnt even do. He was also owed $800,000 the day after he was fired. Hmmmmm......
TT had 10 consecutive winning season under Leach.
I dont see how there can be any argument.

I guess it may just be one of those guys we dis agree on. I see a guy who really developshis guys. Look around in the NFL, you will see alot of Iowa guys. Iowa is a team that other teams dont like to play because of there tough nosed disciplined, and they are always in almost every game they play.
No big deal on this one.... agree to dis agree...
but if you brought me something like Gene Chizk is a good coach....thats grounds for a argument.

Great point about Switzer. yeah he was a great coach.
I think that we may be comparing 2 different things. Yeah, Switzer may have got him when Tom didnt have his program at the level the same time when Switzer had his. Know what Im saying? I think if you compared the two when they were at the top of their game IMO I give the nod to Tom....Just my Opinion, you could really make a good argument for both.
What I personally seen in tom was a guy who had complete control of that offense and when that " train " got rolling.....nothing could stop it.
juts a little something you prolly already know, but it's still a cool stat to me.......... Did you know that the 95 Nebraska team, you know the one that ran almost every down. Their QB that year Tommie Frasier ( the best option QB of all time BTW....) never took a snap that lost a yard....the entire season. WOW. I just thought that was amazing. Think about how amazing that is...

On the flip side, how about now? There is no way you could fear that team the same way you once did.

Texas A&M - Way to enter the SEC guys. Lose your 3 best players and dump the dead beat coach, which BTW, Ive been begging you to do. I guess were really gonna see if Sumlin can coach or not. You walk away from conference USA and walk straight into the pits of hell AKA... the SEC west. Good luck slick, LOL. What is there to say really, I mean this team is a complete unknown at this point. We know they have a few good receivers in Swope and that other cats name that has about 3 Z's and a few K's in it. I do like the Back Michael, I think he needs to stay healthy if this team is gonna have any chance at having a respectable year. Not real sure about the QB position, I do know there thinking about playing the freshman which has plenty of pro's and con's to it. I think the better half of this easily is the defense. Sherman left the kitchen full of talent on that side of the ball, he just never knew what to do with it. Here is something that will matter to this team moving forward to a league where field position is everything. Special teams. Losing All American Kicker Bullock will hurt this team in more ways then they can imagine. Overall the schedule could be worse I guess, but playing that 4 game stretch in the middle of the year may be the end for these guys. LSU @ Auburn, @ Miss s.t, @ Alabama. Ouch. I say the ceiling is 8 wins for these guys, but I really think were looking at a 6-6 team.
up next..................Auburn

Now we wont see them for a long time......
Under Leach you knew they were gonna put up 40 points, you just never knew if they were gonna give up 41......Offense was basically unstoppable unless you had great corners/linebackers or the TT qb threw a couple + picks. Basically like NE in the NFL....lots of quick slants and draws to pull the safeties up and then hit the post or fly patterns......Really tough to defend the spread with a mediocre defense.

A&M has a top 5 OL and a respectable RB in Christen Michael along with Swoops. I think a good SEC Offense like Ark is going to destroy their D...I think Bama and LSU will bitch slap them because they feel like it…
Good Riddance Aggies...Texas will win 3 NC's before A&M wins the SEC west...but, they are in the SEC baby...yes, you are about to serve a 5 year sentence for “Aggravated Napoleon Complex”...and you are about get figuratively ass-raped in your dream conference...good luck with that...

You guys dont have any hatred towards one another do you?
LOL.......
I think A&M was sick of the favoritism that Texas received in the Big 12. You cant deny that, right?
I just hate to see our rivalries going away in college football.

1 thing i do know about this team is, they got HB Trey Williams...
Thinking A&M and Missouri both pull a few upsets , but yeah 6-6/7-5 sounds about right for both
