Its not about the SEC being a great conference its about people preaching that its the only conference. If I told you there is a team from the soft and spineless Big 12 that will join the SEC next year and will lose its starting QB, starting running back, and its number 2 wideout how would they compete? Lets also say they return only 6 starters from a defense that gave up over 28 points a game for good measure, they would get destroyed right?
Well say hello to Texas A & M. Last year all I heard was how the Big 12 is soft and sucks and could never compete in SEC. Now its all about A & M that was the sixth best team in the Big 12 last year and remember they only had 10 teams. So what does that say about the almighty SEC?

I should know better than to respond to trolling, but here goes:
ND has won the games on their schedule. (Ala is 6-6 ATS in all their blowout wins which includes 3 southern small fry). Most of NDs' opponents are long term rivals and play their best when ND comes to town, and are not intimidated by the Irish. ND as an independent travelled all over the country. Their style of play is conservative, mistake free, and keep opponents out of the endzone. How many TDs has Bama allowed? I also believe that outside of A&M and LSU, other SEC teams do not give their best when Bama's game is on the schedule. PAC12 teams and BIG12 likewise hurt themselves by defeating each other. Perhaps that's the edge we are seeing the last few years. It certainly helps put the SEC team into the last game scenario, while they play their best poker hands and rarely play west of the Mississippi or north of the Mason-Dixon line. That being said, the line is correct, but the polls are wrong: BAma should be #1 -- ND #2.
Why do you speculate on the NFL? What QB would you use from the SEC right now to lead such a squad? Sorry, college kids would be destroyed and manhandled by ANY NFL team. Dumb speculation.
It cracks me up how some people think a troll is anyone that has an opinion they don’t like.
You post that “the bottom half of the SEC needs to focus on beating the Sun Belt.”
I retort by pointing out Notre Dame beat Purdue, BYU, and Pittsburgh at home by 3 points.
You then claimed those close games were because teams “play their best when ND comes to town, and are not intimated by the Irish.” But of course teams outside of LSU and A&M don’t play their best against Alabama.
So basically your defense is weak teams tend to play well against Notre Dame.Hmm…
You brought up the concept of an SEC All Conference team playing Notre Dame.I was simply stating my opinion that such a team could probably beat some NFL teams. And the only thing dumb is to speak with absolute certainty about something we couldn’t possibly know for sure.

I guess Johnny plays defense too. And we all know a redshirt freshman coming from the soft Big 12 would never have any impact on thoses great SEC defenses. A Heisman candidate, yeah right when hell freezes over.

Lucan whats up bro its been a little while. I hope you are in good health. Im not going to debate with you, you are too much of a diehard for me. I will say Bamas got a chance just like they did last year, but I dont think Georgia will be as easy an out as most people think.
In the end if Georgia wins i think the value in the championship line will be with them, and If Bama wins the value will be with the Irish. Take it easy bro.

Forget football, lets talk basketball!! Thats where the playoffs are, dang nevermind the SEC won that last year to!!
At least basketball has some kind of legit playoff. Some crummy champions were voted in over likely better teams from the SEC. Last two years G-Men won the SB with a 9-7 record. Will never accept an undisputed champion when it is politically chosen and voted in.
But of course, the SEC is already in line to benefit from next year's pre season polls, and at least 2 of the 4 teams would be SEC of course. If it were this year MAYBE Oregon would make it past the Bama Georgia loser.
Much prefer ND in this one. To think we were so close to getting Florida in there, thanks to 6 turnovers from the 5th yr sr QB at FSU---none more costly than late 3rd wtr at midfield, up 4 points, and coughing it up on a busted play.

A&M adds a Heisman trophy frontrunner at QB and you talk like they have the exact same team as last season.
Believe it or not: adding a Heisman trophy caliber QB to your team tends to make a difference in how good your team is.

No last years team had more talent but their QB really sucked. What was that guys name Tannehill. Last time i heard that guy was a 7th round pick of the Toronto Agronauts. Or was he the 8th pick of the NFL draft? No one knows about those scrub Big 12 QBs right?

So you think last year’s 6-6 A&M team was better than this year’s 10-2 team?

Shooter your expertise in football is too much. You are the reason why the SEC fan is the most intelligent of all conferences in college football. There is no doubt you are the next Mel Kiper.

Like Ford's breakdown of the three teams that have a shot at the title. He goes through all 12 games and ND wins 8 of the 12.
"Eight times out of 12, the Irish have had the most impressive performance when assessing comparable opponents. Notre Dame is 2-0 against the Sagarin top 10, whereas Alabama is 0-1 and Georgia is 1-1. Notre Dame is 4-0 against the Sagarin top 20, whereas Alabama is 2-1 and Georgia is 1-1. "
And as I stated earlier, every single one of the Irish games have been rivals that seriously hate ND and they have been playing since the no helmet days. I do not see either Bama or Georgia getting 20 points easily.

Dledian, I'll show class in any forum but this one. Zero respect for coll football as a sport and sec fans overall . None.
Osirus,WTF, if you dislike college football so much then why are you posting here?
As Jack Webb used to say on Hawaii 50, just the facts mam, just the facts. The SEC has 6 teams in the top 10 of the BCS. What's not to like about that unless you're not a fan of SEC football.

That means a lot coming from the guy that’s claiming a 2011 6-6 A&M team was better than the 2012 10-2 A&M team.

You called out the bottom half of the SEC for struggling with the Sun Belt yet you give Notre Dame (the supposed #1 team in the country) a free pass for winning by 3 points in home games against Purdue, BYU, and Pittsburgh because…wait for it… their opponents hate them.

Purdue Byu and Pitt are all way better than any Sun belt team. How can u compare them honestly. And i don't understand y the SEC gets this automatic berth with the same record. There is only 1 SEC team that in my mind is worthy of being put ahead of another 1 loss team. Bama. If Georgia wins by some miracle, Oregon deserves to go imo.

another thing that I think is overlooked about ND is the fact that as an independent team they have to play completely different teams basically every week. Each of the teams in the SEC, Big12, and Big 10 essentially play the same style of offense. Each conference is different but within the conference it is relatively similar (you just face different degrees of talent each week). ND has offenses of OU, USC, Mich, Mich St, Navy etc... and so week to week it is almost a completely different game plan.

And in my honest opinion A&M success is due in large part cause of a stud QB but I also think that some of it is related to the fact that they play a big 12 style of offense that is not what the SEC is used to seeing. Everybody criticizes the Big 12 D but never mention their high potent offense.
