I just want to make sure I am understanding you correctly.
You are honestly claiming that the SEC getting into the BCS championship game the past 7 years had absolutely nothing to do with the SEC being the best conference in college football or having one of the two best teams, but was only due to the SEC paying money to the right people to make sure they got in?

Just sick and tired of ridiculous fans like you on gambling forums.
Go to fanhouse.com with this crap.
How does this pertain to having a gambling edge?
Or, are you just thumping your chest about your conference or team?
What a waste of bandwith this thread is and what a waste of Forget it son, you just dont get it.
Like I said: If the SEC’s dominance angers you so much you might want to avoid threads specifically about the SEC. If your only focus is gambling then steer clear of threads like this one. You knew exactly what the thread was going to be about yet you opened it anyway. I guess some people just enjoy bitching and moaning too much.
Oh, and congratulations on making a post that didn’t include randomly talking on men having oral sex with other men.I guess you read the link on Psychological Projection.

BOTTOM LINE IS THAT MOST OF THE FOOTBALL PLAYERS IN THE SEC ( EXCEPTION VANDY ) WOULD NOT QUALIFY ACADEMICALLY IN THE BIG TEN, BIG EAST, PAC 12, BIG 12.
THE SOUTHERN CONFERENCES ACC, (EXCEPT DUKE) AND THE SUNBELT LET EVERYONE QUALIFY!!THUS ALOT OF THESES ACADEMICALLY CHALLENGED ATHLETHES ARE NOT RECRUITED BY NORTHERN SCHOOLS WITH HIGHER ACADEMIC STANDARDS.
VERY FEW COULD GET INTO NOTRE DAME !!THE POWERS THAT BE AT ND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THE SCHOOL TO RELAX THEIR ACADEMIC STANDARDS FOR YEARS!
REMEMBER ACADEMICS FIRST!!!!

Conference talent runs in cycles.........the SEC is on top right now, but that won't last forever. In the 90's, Nebraska and Florida State were dominant. In the 80's, who was better than the Canes? In the 70's, Alabama was good but Oklahoma and USC were arguably just as good or better.

I would say overall the last seven years, the SEC's top 5 in their conference is head and shoulders above any other conference's top 5 during each individual year (with the exception of 2007 big 12 IMO)
Here is the problem (I am not a SEC hater or SEC lover). College football is subjective. No others sport has a computer help solve who the champion is.
2011.....LSU and Alabama. They had by far the best 2 defenses in the land. Would have been tough for anybody to beat them. Sure would have like to see Okie state have a shot.
2010....Auburn and Oregon....close game could have gone either way....TCU could have beaten either one of these teams.
2009....Alabama and Texas.....McCoy getting injured didn't matter. The championship was decided in the SEC championship game the 2 best teams that year were Florida and Alabama...nobody was beating them.
2008...Florida and Oklahoma....How the winner of this game could be given any title is beyond me. Florida beat Alabama 31-20..Utah beat Alabama 31-17.....USC or Texas could have beaten Florida....There were 8 teams that had similar resumes, similar talents and only 2 of them got to play for the championship. How could anyone claim a title in 08?
2007......LSU and Ohio state.. top seven teams in the final poll all had 2 losses. LSU had 2 losses in conference that season both in triple overtimes to 2 teams with 8-5 teams, yet still got to the the big game.
2006.....Florida and Ohio state....should have been USC vs FLa IMO......who knows who would have won that game.
2005.......Texas and USC.....best two teams were in that game IMO
2004......Usc and Oklahoma.....How can Usc claim credit to this title when there is an undefeated Auburn team out there. Who wouldn't have wanted to see this game.
SEC haters, please come to reality if you want to line your pockets with cash bet SEC teams come rivalry week and bowl season they are clearly the best conference year in and year out.
SEC lovers, please get off your high horse.......seven straight titles?
Could be less, could be more. We don't know. Rooting for conferences is pretty

Its not a 100% claim its big possiblity, conspiracy theory u could say. I just can't automatically say that a team with the same record as someone else gets the nod because of their conference. USC had same record as LSU but LSU got the call for title game. .

It is because of 2004 we have this predictament, from then on out, if u have the record as an SEC team, they will overtake u. thats what it seems like.

And if the SEC only had one great team during their run your examples would be applicable. However 6 straight BCS Championships with 4 different teams goes beyond a single program.
Sure, one day the SEC probably won’t be the best conference, but unfortunately for the SEC-haters that day’s not going to come anytime soon.

Interesting post. The only thing I really have an issue with is your take on the 2008 game. When Florida beat Alabama they were playing a game in which the winner would go on to play in the National Championship.
When Utah beat Alabama Utah was playing in the biggest game in the history of their program while Bama clearly couldn’t have cared less. They went from playing in the title game to playing in a consolation bowl with freakin’ Utah.
Florida faced a much different team than Utah faced.

Just think, Alabama could *win* the *championship* this year without even playing Florida which could end up being the #2 team in the land when its all said and done. Which happens all the time, but Florida is in there conference.
Florida plays a completely tougher schedule and gets hosed.

SEC had 7 horses
Big 10 had 2 horses
Big 12 had 2 horses
Pac 12 had 1 horse
You have to have a horse in the game to have a chance.
SEC has always had a shot. Which is crucial when it is not completely decided on the field.

Its not a 100% claim its big possiblity, conspiracy theory u could say. I just can't automatically say that a team with the same record as someone else gets the nod because of their conference. USC had same record as LSU but LSU got the call for title game. .
It’s a “big possibility” that the SEC getting into the BCS championship game the past 7 years had absolutely nothing to do with the SEC being the best conference in college football or having one of the two best teams, but was only due to the SEC paying money to the right people to make sure they got in?
Well if that’s the case then there’s also a “big possibility” that the 1969 moon landing was really filmed in a Hollywood studio and that bigfoot exists.

When a single conference has 6 teams in the top 10 at the end of the regular season there’s a pretty good chance each team is going to miss playing some of the top conference teams.
And if Florida would have taken care of business against Georgia they wouldn’t be “getting hosed.”

So is your argument that the SEC’s 6 straight BCS Championships with 4 different teams isn’t that impressive because the SEC is good enough to always put a team in the title game?

I will give the SEC credit. They rarely travel west of the Mississippi or north of the mason dixon line. The smart teams schedule a scrimmage game against a d2 school before the *classic* acc-sec *showdown*
College football is the best sport in the business. They only flaw is the final chapter. Hopefully in two years they will expand it to a 6 team playoff (top2 teams get a bye) or a 8 team playoff. Any more than that you completely devalue the regular season. No more d2 games.

My point is that until the current decade, the SEC wasn't the best conference in any of the previous 3 decades. In fact, Alabama is the only SEC team that has a sustained history of excellence since the integration of black athletes into the sport. LSU doesn't.....Florida doesn't........Georgia doesn't........nor do any of the conference's weaker sisters. Before LSU's BCS title in 2003, no one was predicting a decade of SEC dominance. These things have a way of playing out.

When a single conference has 6 teams in the top 10 at the end of the regular season there’s a pretty good chance each team is going to miss playing some of the top conference teams.
And if Florida would have taken care of business against Georgia they wouldn’t be “getting hosed.”
Alabama didn't take care of business against am
florida against georgia
georgia against sc
oregon against stanford
Alabama to me looks like the better team on the field. But florida has the best resume out of all the teams and they also have the best looking loss.

So is your argument that the SEC’s 6 straight BCS Championships with 4 different teams isn’t that impressive because the SEC is good enough to always put a team in the title game?
Define the word *good*? I wouldn't say it is in the same boat as *fair* or *equal* or *legit*.
But a 6-0 record in extra game at the end of the year with 4 different teams being participants is very impressive.

I’ve been hearing that for the past half decade.Yet here we are.Another title game.Another SEC team.
Like I said: this isn’t going to end anytime soon.Pretty much the only hope SEC-haters have is that more than one of the major SEC schools goes on probation at the same time.

“Alabama didn't take care of business against am”
Alabama won their division by being the only team with 1 loss.
“florida against Georgia”
That’s why they didn’t win their division.
“georgia against sc”
Georgia won their division by having only 1 loss and owning the tie breaker over UF.
“oregon against stanford”
That’s why Oregon isn’t playing for the national championship.
Bottom line: if you play in a major conference and take care of your business you are almost certainly going to play for the BCS championship. If you don’t, then you leave your fate in the hands of others.

That may be, but Florida didn’t even win their own division and I don’t think many people are arguing that Georgia and Florida are clearly the two best teams in the country.
