A conference having 6 teams in the top 10 at the end of the regular season is smoke and mirrors?

If anyone is wondering what type of SEC-hater this thread is about, this guy is definitely one of them.

Or alternatively this post is why people are frustrated with the SEC.  Watch the games and then tell me how good FL adn LSU are. they are good but not any better (and actually worse) than the other teams I mentioned.

It is the big southern dummy syndrome that makes this a difficult discussion.

Fl and LSU are good of course but they are nothing special at all.

In post #65 you said the SEC only had a “good team or two at the top.”

In post #73 you said Alabama and A&M are great.

In post #75 you said LSU and Florida are good.

So what is it?  Did you forget what you posted earlier today?  Did your opinion change over the course of a few hours?  Or are you simply trolling?

Do we have a bowlslit sighting here??? Trying to manipulate my words is something I have seen before.

Straightshooter -- feel free to mince my words all you want. fine with me. Point is that the SEC has two teams that are (among a few others) better than the rest . That happens to be Bama and A&M. Get nit picky about good vs great all you want I really do not care.  But the point is that outside of a Bama and A&M (and a few other non-SEC teams) the rest of the SEC is good but no better than anybody else.  That is all.  Florida and LSU would struggle against the Big 12, and I honestly believe that.

We all know why you delusional SEC-haters are frustrated with the SEC.  They have dominated college football for the last decade and it pisses you off.

The SEC has 6 straight BCS Championships and in six weeks it’s going to be 7 straight.  It’s understandable that you’re jealous, but I would think by now you’d be use to it.

I had a feeling your might attempt to claim that (seeing as how that was your only opinion other than manning up and attempting you were wrong) so that’s why I included what post you made each statement in.  There was no need for manipulation because that’s simply what said.  People can easily check each post and see that’s exactly what you posted.

Sorry kid, but there’s no editing on covers.  What you posted is there for everyone to see.

The SEC has (3) 11 & 1 teams, and (3) 10 & 2 teams.  All 9 losses are to fellow SEC teams.  I don't know what the bowl match-ups will be yet, but I seriously doubt any of these 6 loses their respective bowl games.  As a conference, this the strongest SEC in recent memory.

this is not new. It is similar for the big 12 as well. Of the top teams in the big 12 the only non-conference was OU losing to the now #1 ND team. In fact I think (I only partially verified this) that the only non conference loses for the entire league were a couple by Kansas (the bottom of the barrel for the big 12) and an Ok St loss to Zona St.

And I respectfully disagree about this being the strongest SEC conf in recent memory. I would actually argue that (despite the smoke and mirror rankings) this is a pretty weak SEC conf compared to recent years.

I agree with Matt.  Last year's LSU team would own this year's SEC......and we all saw how much better Alabama was than that LSU team.  Just an opinion, obviously.

Can you really not remember the things you’ve posted a few hours before or is it that your opinion changes hourly?

Its not about the SEC being a great conference its about people preaching that its the only conference. If I told you there is a team from the soft and spineless Big 12 that will join the SEC next year and will lose its starting QB, starting running back, and its number 2 wideout how would they compete? Lets also say they return only 6 starters from a defense that gave up over 28 points a game for good measure,  they would get destroyed right?

Well say hello to Texas A & M. Last year all I heard was how the Big 12 is soft and sucks and could never compete in SEC.  Now its all about A & M  that was the sixth best team in the Big 12 last year and remember they only had 10 teams. So what does that say about the almighty SEC?

I should know better than to respond to trolling, but here goes:

ND has won the games on their schedule. (Ala is 6-6 ATS in all their blowout wins which includes 3 southern small fry). Most of NDs' opponents are long term rivals and play their best when ND comes to town, and are not intimidated by the Irish. ND as an independent travelled all over the country. Their style of play is conservative, mistake free, and keep opponents out of the endzone. How many TDs has Bama allowed? I also believe that outside of A&M and LSU, other SEC teams do not give their best when Bama's game is on the schedule. PAC12 teams and BIG12 likewise hurt themselves by defeating each other. Perhaps that's the edge we are seeing the last few years. It certainly helps put the SEC team into the last game scenario, while they play their best poker hands and rarely play west of the Mississippi or north of the Mason-Dixon line. That being said, the line is correct, but the polls are wrong: BAma should be #1 -- ND #2.

Why do you speculate on the NFL? What QB would you use from the SEC right now to lead such a squad? Sorry, college kids would be destroyed and manhandled by ANY NFL team. Dumb speculation.
